0:52 he says he’s been secretly stashing them but I think that’s just for the presentation because in reality it’s always good as a developer to keep older stuff for reference. Respawn did this with the development of Titanfall 2 with ‘action blocks’ keeping everything in an archive. One time they thought “what if Titans could walk through buildings with environmental destruction?”It looked cool but in terms of gameplay, the animation caused lag and building destruction took away cover for both titans and pilots alike.

Developers all use VCS, such as GIT, and it's easy to "roll back" to the previous version of the code, so yeah - you don't have to actually "stash" it somewhere. VCS keeps the history of all the files, from it's birth, to the current point.

The 2006 version was the best for in-game models, and the 2007 version was the best version of the campaign: non-linear plus a Star Map! It's just too bad that the 2008 merger happened and SCII was made into Warcraft 3 in space... but with one less faction (which was regrettable considering the fact that WC3 allowed you to play as the main antagonists, the Undead Scourge).

Melodeath00 It looked like BW. Which is better looking then shitty blocky style they went for that looks nothing like their original design. All they had to do was touch up the textures and lighting on the models and they'd be just fine. Seriously, I HATE everything about modern SC2 protoss.

SkyTech RTS I heard the SC2 team was trying to develop SC2 with its own identity, separate from brood war. I think they meant this in terms of game mechanics, but it's obvious that they're also changing up the lore to fit some new grand vision. This vision not being Brood War apparently.
