I think he was effectively confused by Astrea's strategies. Rattata is a very good player, but to be able to adapt to those weird situations, to answer to them in a decent way, is actually extremely difficult. There is a reason why you have to autopilot so much and don't have much brain power available to THINK. The "mechanical" stress is huge during a game of stracraft.

This is a good reminder of exactly how build flexible the Protoss is, which is one of their main advantages. It's why I'm so mystified why everyone goes the single Void Ray opener instead of trying to mix it up more and keep the opponent guessing.

Flexibility is great, which at the top level is why the single void ray is so powerful. You don't know what you're getting by default, so the protoss starts with that advantage and presses it by playing safe. In bo5/bo7, the unpredictability adds up

@@dallasfreeman7042 Protoss do have the flexibility to probe scout early, especially against Zerg, as Zerg really can't do anything about the probe just... sitting in their base. It's a small advantage, but it can help with the gameplan. I do understand that things are REALLY tight at the highest levels of play. I'd just like to see a bit more chaos from time to time.

Hey Lowko! There is a typical zerg mistake at 7:12. Most of Zergs(and sometimes Serral) don't full creeps their own main. This is a good for their opponent

You can do this awesome Gold - Plat build where you end up hitting the opponent with 15+ zealots at +1 with 4 arcon and 3 immortals at the 6min mark.. It steamrolls anything.

Game 1 was protoss outplaying himself. He needed to use the force fields to manage the zerglings, not use all their energy to bait transfuses. Also shouldn't have wrapped additional in. Should've been stalkers or zealots
