@@juanversion3922 they nerfed Protoss and by taking the voids out of the equation via cost and it created a much more complex and difficult to defend play style. I think we are at perfectly balanced right now aside from terran needing a better late game unit other than the ghost as BCs are too slow. Some sort of air unit that is fast like a bomber or a ground unit that spell casts with sci storm damage or any of the great spells that Zerg has would balance it. Economy/vision is quite balanced as we have mules, warps/chrono, and larvae/creep although Protoss has the worst vision as no scans or creep make them rely on actual scouting units. Maybe if a ghost could triangulate on a group of enemies and cause libs or thors to have additional range of +5 or something and call it heat seaking that could work

Second game was very exciting and perhaps an example of maybe being a little too cautious as Lowko suggested. What I love about Her0's playstyle and I see other Protoss emulating it, is the aggressiveness. It's such a welcome change from the sitting back and massing skytoss, we used to see.

Part of me is actually very glad that a player with a fun, aggressive style like herO was the player to win GSL in so long. No disrespect to Trap or Stats and obviously they are capable of playing many styles, but if they won during a meta where playing voidrays and camping was optimal it would have left a sour taste in my mouth. Im glad that the win came this way is what I'm trying to say. It also helps that I'm a massive fanboy of both herO and PartinG. Those guys make stalkers look like they have double the health.

I'm decent not amazing. I'm diamond 1-3 as zerg. Usually get close to that or plat 1 as terran. Toss i can get to diamond but i don't enjoy toss as much. Still haven't broken in to masters. I took about a year or two off when LOTV came out. Remember when medivacs didn't Have boost? Haha. Funny thing is i have mained all races and even did random for a few seasons. I strongly believe playing all races makes you stronger with your main.

@@randomzergling3661 haha thanks. well to be fair.... i have always felt the higher up you go generally the better the games. The lower leagues are full of cheese. Especially toss 🤣. Before you get to plat 1 you should pretty much always scout and have a plan for proxies and macro cheesers. If they are macro cheesing you get greedy. If they are all in-ing you need to build units. Honestly in gold you should not spend too much in upgrades for the first like 7 mins. If you make it to a fully saturated 3rd i would say focus on upgrades. Since lower league games are typically shorter, upgrades don't help as much as more stuff. Pick a build for each matchup for your main and stick to it. Execute a plan. A crappy plan is better than no plan. Start your plan from the beginning of the game. Glhf also don't watch most fights unless they NEED constant micro. If you macro during fights you will win a lot more. I'm still trying to get better at it. Get your hotkeys figured out and keep using them for production.

Terrans really have the option to just turtle for a long time when very far behind. In game 2 Her0 was forced to build carriers and he basically never builds carriers by choice, just to break that tank/liberator static defense.

Whenever I see some pros coming back from military service, it seem they can't go back to their peak form. Either the service broke them physically or mentally(or both), they can't catch up with the current meta or just overall their skills just left them with no apparent reason at all. herO is a different animal, he just change the way the P race is played. It seems like Life came back but instead of him playing Z, he switched to the P race. Such constant aggression and greediness on the map.

trap won 3 super tournaments in a row, a dreamhack, tsl 7, and NeXT, and had 7 top 4 finishes in GSL since 2019, among other achievements. Trap was best protoss in the world before herO, although Zest also had some peaks.

Yeah I've been struggling against protoss more lately. To be fair the main culprit is needing to push more. Though it is frustrating with protoss basicly if you don't touch them they become unstoppable, the same can't truly be said for Terran or zerg. Though macro is usually key and unit composition regardless of race.

Question: Regarding the Ultralisk derping around zerglings problem. Could it be "fixed" by making other small zerg units (or only zerglings) derp around the Ultras? .. Instead of these huge beasts tiptoeing around zerglings? So when you send and Ultra through the zerglings to the frontline, the zerglings "get pushed around" ... idk?

Unfortunately, collision size doesn't care how big you are. Only that 2 units can't occupy the same space. Imo it's better to just give ultra the colossi treatment and just remove their collision so they can just over other units.

Might make sense to add slight range to ultras so they can hit over lings or have ultras specifically ignore collision with lings/small units

Maybe the colossi treatment only with zerglings under the Ultra would solve the problem and it couldn't be abused since zerglings are simple melee units and doesn't matter if they are hiding under since the are not hight tier spellcastors. It is just so stupid to have an Ultra unable to move because of some tiny creatures. If I were a zergling I would have the instinct to not get in the path of an Ultralisk.

I have an idea instead of ultralight having to get in the front why don't players mass overlord and have multiple drop lords and have an ultralight in it and when he zerglings rush take the cloud of overlords and when you're above drop the ultralisks on the enemy lol

Because that's defeat the purpose of ultralisk. They are meant to be eating shots and soak up damage while leading the charge. Being inside an overlord(which is slower than themselves I might add) render them almost useless since they die if the OV is killed and you might as well load banes for an airdrop instead

Not really relevant to this series, but why do pros go for "cheeky" switches but then put the tech building for it in an easily scouted forward position? Forward as in close to the natural wall-off rather than in the main base. Watched a game from a while ago on this channel where a Blink DT switch was made but the Dark Shrine was just instantly spotted (even seeing the upgrade in progress) and so the Blink DT gambit ended up being a total whiff because the enemy was prepared. I can't think of any good reason to put the Shrine forward in that case.

Recall is really the ultimate forgiving mechanic in the game. If you get completely out gamed and baited you can just press the button and bam, undo your game ending mistake.

I would say terrans are by far the biggest turtles. Look at game 2, how far behind was Byun but as long as he was behind tank/liberator he was untouchable. That was the meaning of those 3 carriers, which Her0 never builds by choice.
