+ironboy98 She was changed on a biological level, it wouldn't matter if she expended all her power with Amon, she would still be a Xel'Naga, she most likely had to recover after her fight and then changed herself to her human form, which is why Raynor had to wait for her. Heck she could probably still call on that power if she wanted to, but chooses not to.

The end of a legacy that lasted 17 years. It leaves a big hole in the lives of some gamers. With no doubt this is Blizzard's Masterpiece. Great game, great story and a fun that lasted 17 years. May the Koprulu sector never be forgotten.

I believe she's still a Xel'Naga, but took on human form to be with Raynor in the end. Most probably following the same logic as Narud/Duran did. Remember the "Dark Origin" mission on the Brood War Expansion? He said he lived hundreds or thousands (can't remember) of years and took on many forms and names. It's probably the same for Kerrigan, only that she is benevolent.

In my opinion Kerrigan essentially became GOD, hence the barren worlds containing new growth, her return to collect Rayner is symbolic of them travelling to a new plane of existence together. Blizzard wrapped it up nicely, if there are more StarCraft (which I doubt) it will no longer focus on the characters we all know and love, it would be based off the 'lesser' characters like covert ops is doing, I was gutted when I saw zeratul die, but from the way the protoss campaign played..... he wouldn't have fit in well, his skills were espionage, stealth and assassination, skills served well in earlier games.... but had no place in a final battle DX I will miss the StarCraft series, like many of you I grew up playing it from the originals, but I agree with Blizzards decision, the time was right to say goodbye to the StarCraft universe, before it started to feel...... stretched, so many series keep going and going until players hate what it becomes, StarCraft kept us interested from the first Marine to the last Xel'naga. this 17 year journey is over, and unlike many games..... I do not believe even a second was wasted playing it

Narud used the form of Samir Duran to be in the physical world, as Ouros used Tassadar. I guess Kerrigan did the same with her old body, explaining that ending.

Yeah I agree the ending is not that straight forward/simple. The way I interpreted was that they both died killing Amon and what we see 2 years later is Jim's perspective of his transition to the after life, hence visualizing a human form of Kerrigan (pre-Zerg, and the way he fell in love with her) and taking off with her was his ideal dream. Why 2 year's later? Maybe it was a way for the author to provide more insight as to what happened in the aftermath (such as Zigara now leading the Zergs, Valerian now ruling, etc).

Kerrigan has use her power to kill amon and then she sad "I choose a nother way". she ended the time of xel'naga and gives up her power to go to Raynor. I love Starcraft so much and it is sad to see that it is over. But maybe there will be more in the future... I hope so...

Could there be a connection between kerrigans "different" choice that she told amon before owning him and the mysterious regrowth that started happening. My theory is Kerrigan kills Amon, and rather than retaining her xelnaga essence to continue the infinite cycle releases it back into the galaxy which causes the mysterious regrowth (she told Amon she didn't care about the infinite cycle) and she chooses to resume her human form. However the golden light that entered the bar with her hints that she kept some of her powers and can use them to do what she wants still, so technically she's still xelnaga.

Well in order to kill Amon(devil) she created this massive explosion and obviously she was injured in the process probably it took her those two years to heal her wounds, she does have a different essence now that she's Xel-naga she turned into some kind of angel and yes I've heard in so many stories angels are eternal and they can shapeshift into whatever they want, James Raynor was not that surprised it looked as if he was waiting for her to come back, him not coming back for his badge means that he just gave up on his position in order to be with the one he loves which is Kerrigan,

to anyone saying this story was not planned since the beginning and that Chris Metzen wasn't the brains behind it all, you need to either 1. replay Starcraft 1 and Brood War, or 2. go on the Starcraft Wiki and read up on everything you missed or didn't understand. want proof it was planned since the beginning? Samir Duran, remember him? he was Narud the entire time posing as a terran, now this is a quote from Duran in the original game: "I am a servant of a far greater power. A power that has slept for countless ages. And is reflected in the creature within that cell." - Duran discusses Zeratul's discoveries on the dark moon. that's hinting at Amon, and the creature in the cells were hybrid if you recall, now also here's a quote from Alexei Stukov: "I must warn you about the being that runs this lab: Dr. Narud. An ancient shapeshifter who has worn many faces over the years, he made me what I am." apparently I can tell good writing better than most people these days, since apparently people want to say this writing is bad yet they want to praise the writing of crap like naruto.... also Amon was in multiple zerg mission briefings in the original game if you guys bothered to pay attention.... also to people not liking the ending thinking its not Kerrigan that Raynor goes with and someone tricking him, IT IS KERRIGAN, if you have subtitles on it literally says its her speaking, so more than likely she was the one creating all that life on barren planets for 2 years before coming back for Raynor.

The cycle begins anew with Sarah/Xel'Naga and Jim. They'll be watching and let things fall into place. As Optimus Prime used to say. "Until that day, Till all are One !" Perfect union of Purity of Essence and Form through the Natural Passing of Time (without Tampering of course like what Amon did). Since Jim was tagged as Missing. I doubt he committed Suicide, because if he did, Emperor Valerian and Admiral Horner will make a Imperial Funeral for their Hero (Jim's corpse will be paraded in the whole of Augustgrad to his grave). I see Jim ascended as a chosen by Sarah/Xel'Naga. Like Enoch from the Bible. Genesis 5:24 " then he was no more, because God took him away. " The Protoss can visit them in Ulnar. One of the leading theories as to what happened to Jimmy is that in a drunken sadness he hallucinates Kerrigan (who he is presumed to have not seen in 2 whole years) and commits suicide. I for one don't think that happened, but I honestly can't come up with anything more compelling or convincing.

So jim is going to either have killed himself OR be returning at the very end of one of the games (they are doing DLC for LOTV they announced, so maybe it'd be in one of those OR in sc3 or 4) and if he does return, he will be the one that ends Kerrigans life at the very end. He said he was going to kill Kerrigan no matter what in sc1. And SC1 ended with the dominion leader committing suicide and SC2 ends the same way with raynor killing himself provided they go that route with him. So it's going to be one of those 2 ways they choose to go with it. If they don't, then activision-blizzard is just giving pens and paper to 5 year olds to write their stories. That would prove they just make shit up out of their ass as they go which is hilarious and pathetic.

About the ending:I didn't think Jim killed himself.There was a two year time lapse,when he could do that.He is a straight man,he would do it right after Amon's end and a glass of Scotty Bolger's No7 with a cigar.Or he would do it after the Guild Wars,years before SC1 happens.I think about two options: 1.Sarah just took his essence (soul,if you like)with her,so they could be together,because if Raynor stays human,sooner or later,he would be dead.Well at least until Sarah will be dead,what took millions if not billions of years.After all,there is no heaven in this universe. 2.We saw the "life appearence" slide AFTER they gone.So maybe Sarah let her powers flow away(and turns back into human form at her will)-this is what we saw as "golden light",and because energy cannot be created or destroyed,it was converted into life itself across the Koprulu.Maybe that flow took two years,and that what we saw was the ending of it.Maybe Jim knew,he had to wait,because when Sarah "flowing",it would be dangerous being too close to her. +Jake O'Hare The UED are really only a threat to the Terrans. The Zerg and Protoss were only ever threatened by them because they showed up at their most vulnerable point. If they show up again they'll likely be slaughtered like last time, and I doubt Xagara will be as forgiving as the Queen of Blades was, she'll probably destroy Earth if they ever mess with the Swarm again.

+timemonkey Actually, Word of God and the expanded lore says the UED is far more advanced than the Dominion at least as of Wings of Liberty and only lost because they sent a fraction of their standing forces and technology to the Koprulu Sector. They wanted to minimize financial and human losses so they relied heavily on local production and on the conscription of local forces such as what was left of the Dylarian Shipyards' defenders after they stole the ships in drydock there. It's debatable if their technology is at the same level as that of the Protoss, but they no doubt have vastly superior numbers and technology which is comparable to or superior to the post-war Dominion's. If they decided to launch a full-scale invasion of the Koprulu Sector with most of their effective military strength, they would be a serious threat, even against a Tal'darim/Daelaam/Dominion/Swarm alliance. Remember that this is the faction that, with its hands basically tied behind its back, managed to dethrone Mengsk and take over a large part of the Swarm. Weakened or not, those aren't easy feats.

+UnitDCCXXXI I am aware the UED is more advanced than the Terrans are. However, you also have to factor in the state the other two races were in at the time. The protoss had literally just been forced to flee their homewolrd after being totally wrecked by the Swarm. The Swarm had just suffered the loss of the Overmind, lost 30% of itself due to feral infighting only to immediately be further weakened by the civil war between Kerrigan and Daggoth's forces. The UED literally attacked at the most vulnerable point they could. Fighting the protoss or zerg now would be a very different and massively more diificult task. And the zerg would likely just wipe out Earth to put an end to this.

sorry the ending sucks. 5 seconds cinematic of her shooting at the cthullu meme boss. it feels to me at least cheap and lazy. at the beginning of WOL a side character got a minutes long awesome looking cinematic and the end of SC2 is just a few seconds a few pictures and text... very disappointed

the story was good. they wrapped it up well. She ended the cycle by giving up being a xel'naga, to be with Jim.
