worked perfectly the first time i tried it, i got to 80% with stalker zealot and collossi, then tried mass red void rays and got to 90% but yours made me save all nexi and never touched the keystone, thanks!

Update, I got it! Finally won!! Did it with half of my defense wall up and only a few units lost and no enemies remotely near the artifact. Excellent. The big things that worked for me were: really nail the opening setup and economy (second nexus first) and upgrade chrono boosts, don't forget to point your second nexus at the minerals before spamming probes (doh! Lol), maximize use of Spear abilities to minimize losses of allied units and bases, especially early, so they build up nicely, anticipate getting your void rays to where they need to be ahead of time, don't try too hard to follow the video to the letter, it's hard to keep up and it's more fluid and natural and easier to just naturally follow the pattern and concept, fill in the upper and lower middle areas with all kinds of stuff, cannons etc, and just keep doing this until the end, leave a probe by each defense area you're building so you don't have to look for a new probe each time you need one to build more stuff,

save often and reload if you let a particular wave break through and do too much damage, toss in a few corsairs and carriers with your mob of void rays and do everything else the same as the video (you can feel the difference and the corsairs getting to hot spots early to throw down disruption saved my neck more than a few times), and I found using repair matrix instead of 5sec vulnerability and adding shield boost instead of mass recall also helped me a bit. But that's it! The video and the method really work. Thanks so much! : )

walling alark and karax with shield batteries will help them survive, also place stargates near karax because he's going to use his passive to boost production a lot. use dark archons to mind control golden armada also, having energizers on sentry mode will boost your voidray DPS, place some on all side of entrances.

You're missing out by not using Corsairs, they can hold off entire waves, even the final assault, with ease when backed by a few Carriers and Colossus; no micro needed. They never broke my front line with this method. Another fun trick is to build your production structures near Karax, who can give them what is essentially a permanent Chrono Surge with his Master Phase Smith ability. You can max out on units much faster this way.

+sarahIcommented For sure there are more effective methods but the vast majority of people aren't high elo and play it for a challenge. I could have had 2+ Corsairs at each entrance and untockled auto cast and then manually cast them, but most players wont and it makes it harder. I know about the Karax trick but suddenly if you lose it and you lose production is hard. I just wanted to show a simply way of doing the mission, one unit and some building placement. Thanks for the feedback though.

If you wall in your heroes, they'll stay out of trouble. I was able to keep them alive the entire mission. Alarak in particular makes a wonderful static defense turret. And with the Carriers to repair, and Corsairs to web, you will basically never lose a unit, ever, once your defenses are up. The enemies will be too busy stupidly running back and forth or shooting at interceptors that they can't kill, thanks to Guardian Shell. I didn't even really need to turn web off autocast tbh. Of the methods I've tried, it's the most painless way to complete the mission with all achievements cleared.

+sarahIcommented Upload a video sarah! I'd like to see this, sounds promising and your ideas seem like they'd be effective. As a player struggling with this mission I do completely agree with fletcher's approach - keep it simple, avoid the micro and minimize disaster potential that you have to run around and repair. After watching a half dozen of these videos I'm convinced fletcher's will give me the best chance without a few tries. We'll see, hoping to try it later tonight!

Brilliant. I know its older but if you could ever do a brutal Utter Darkness. I've heard pulling everything in to the main base and focusing on mass colossi & cannon works that way. But never seen anyone do it.
