Honestly, you routinely overshooting the apm goal isn't making what you're doing seem out of reach. It still looks smooth and relatively "slow". Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

I really think that the average watching time of 48min on your videos is reduce by the fact a lot of people watch it in many parts and not in one shot (or im dumb and the yt algorithm is smarter than that)

Hello Winter! I've been following you since I started playing sc2 and asked on Reddit who was a good person to watch in order to learn :) I have a question and that is, I have a 100 ish games with Protoss and I'm Gold 2 (yes i know extra shame) in Europe (idk if its relevant, in league is), what's your opinion on build orders? I get pro players must use them everytime but is it worth it for me as a gold player to learn them and use them? Or is it better for your learning curve / progress as a player to just "wing it" ? Ofc i dont mean jumping in a game with no knowledge whatsoever but I like your style of short instructions like scouts and probes, 3rd before 4min, forge before 6 (i still struggle with that, you've engrained on me so much to hate the forge). Thanks for your attention and keep up the good content!

Alright, I'mma add to the questions' pile. You tend to point out that a lot of Terrans play very similarly and make the same mistakes; that they are book smart, but don't apply critical thinking skills during the game, don't adapt and build the wrong unit compositions. I haven't played much between WoL and last season and was (predictably) surprised to notice the same issues in my play. My general game plan is disjointed and I'm struggling to form deeper understanding of the game's flow. Is this a matter of some bad habits picked up along the way and do you have any suggestions on how to break out of the rut? Is it a matter of just playing more matches?

I’m D1 and I have had the most success by having an initial timing attack to do damage that hits at around 5 minutes, followed by a 2-2 timing, followed by a maxed out attack. Anyone is capable of perfectly hitting the first 5 minutes of a build. After that, the flow of constantly queueing up units in an action-packed game comes with focus and practice.

I think just playing a lot and learning different builds (also for the other races) will be key. For myself I noticed I learn best trough experiencing the different units and builds instead of learning the theories.

When and how do you know that it's time to start paying attention to your opponent, instead of just nose-down rolling out your macro?

There are usually basic timings that you should know from just looking at build orders or when your buildings finish. I almost always scout right after my first production building and then just park some scouts outside a natural so I can send them in every minute

You pay attention to them only so you know what to focus on/not focus on. Otherwise it’s just build army and Econ
