As a filthy casual in SC2 and mostly just a viewer, I love that each race has aspects that when judged alone seem very unbalanced. But altogether it seems to be the talent of the player that decides the outcome. Also, it always amazes me how much utility the Tarren race has, just the ghost alone has such incredible potential.

FTG FDP i hear this a lot, but they’re also cheap and easy to kill. Hell, protoss can actually warp in units, they’re really strong, AND they have shields. Terran can literally build their command centers in safety and fly them as well as other buildings. Not to mention, all terran are long range units. Then, if terran uses mech, zerg needs to micro hard if they want to beat a mech army. Curiosity though, what do you think makes zerg OP aside from the ability to remax? (Cause technically, with that warp-in ability, protoss has that too). Edit: in conclusion, i believe every race has their OP attributes

Speaking as an amateur🤪, I would like to see Maru work more on strategy. Seen a lot of games these days where Maru loses and it seems like he relies mostly on his Micro ability. He has the best control of his units but other players are thinking ahead strategically to counter Maru's micro. Starcraft level is getting insane.

He took his 4GSLs like that and he still kinda fights like that but it isn't as successful as it once was. He still wins the fights but ends up losing the war.

Yeah, two of Maru most popular strategies are proxy racks and medivac multi-prong drop, and now they are constantly being scouted by the opponent, which force Maru into a tradition Terran build with regular timing push. And hes not as good as Innovation or even TY in those kind of builds. Maru gotta to back to the drawing board and come up with better build himself in order to win more tournaments in the future.

Alter Ego we all have things were good and bad at. I just want to see more casted games so I can get some ideas or at least see some different Strategies from pro gamers. Also, Lowko doesn’t cast P v T very often so I (and I’m sure others) would like to see more of it. By the way, I never said the Protoss were bad, they just take some getting used to again. Your talking to a player who hasn’t really played ranked since HOTS so it’s going to take some time.

5:15 Maru lost his map presence with the ling surround. This allowed Reynor to be super greedy in economy. By 5:30 he was 15 workers ahead coming up on 4 bases whereas Maru hadnt even started his third. That's really bad. It gives Reynor so much buffer to take massive damage, which came much later. Maru hits the creep at 6:30 and while he does do a lot of army damage, Reynor's economy was completely untouched. Which means that Reynor's lead just kept growing. By the time Maru dealt damage at 11:30 Reynor had an economy lead for a full 10 minutes, and it's not like Maru came out unscathed too as his third was denied by the lurker push. They left that engagement with even workers but Reynor was up 2 bases.

Hi Lowko , im a fan of urs and im glad to see ur career skyrocketing into the SC@ world, Casting/analysing pro matches from just having a utube channel,thats hard work and i respect u a lot. I have a question id like u to answer me please.So , here goes. Why do some pro players (maru and serral i know for sure cos ive seen their monitors in Pro tourny) use super low settings?? i know some people say its for latency, smooothness , no lagg and so on, but these players at home and in tournaments will provide more than enough Super High end PC that will crush Ultra settings even at 2k right....and if its net latency , they are literally sitting side by side and there can be no lagg whatsoever because of pings or fps. When i saw Maru's perspective , i thot it was Starcraft 1, it was really that low !!! So ,is it because of personal preference and sense of security , or that when that settings is that low , the movements are even faster ??? Please explain ok , ill really appreciate it , cos i just cant understand why they cant or do not appreciate the beauty of modern graphics even though they have more than enough Hardware to run it ???? I'm not sure Serral/Reynor would have been as dominant if they played Terran. It just seems that the ceiling for Zerg is so much higher due to the race's mechanics, as we continually see after each round of nerfs which do nothing to curb their standing at the highest levels of play.

I don't think this is a testament to how good Raynor is. Don't get me wrong he is Phenomenal. But like you said Lowko, Maru just doesn't have as much experience against the lurker style and he dropped the ball in harassment and dare I say unit composition when he had to face the lurkers in late-midgame. And that cost him the game. Pretty sure he won't be caught with his pants down in another game against the Hydra-bane-lurker style.

It does have to do with balance it has to do with how the mechanics of the game force terran to a point where it can only stand still and wait for death vs zerg. Unless T breaks Z in the early to mid game.

I disagree, I don't think it is possible to Multi-task the same way with terran (not sure about protoss) than it is with zerg. The speed of the units combined with select attack move moments (not saying that's all they do) make zerg incredibly strong. Example: zerg can send and forget a small group of lings out to wait for the terran player to move out and counter attack. Counterattacking as a terran requires a med-evac which is very expensive. Also a design issue as the larvae design makes remaxing in late game instantly. This is not easily fixable of course as balance patches seem to focus on unit vs unit and not on the movement speed (ability to retreat and regroup), mustitasking strain (can't kite marines and simultaneously counter as your screen needs to be there 100% of the time) or economic design advantage (cheap larvae producing bases and very strong massable queens) I will gladly take all of this back and shove it if a terran comes along as dominant as Serral or Reynor.

i think at the same time they would play and abuse the strengths and weaknesses of the race though. when zerg is great at remaxing, they are afterall the swarm. I believe that raynor's playstyle would just be different if he had focused on another race from the get go. He may not be exactly as good as he is with zerg, but he would still be around this level, aka: godly to us mere mortals
