Zerg is supposed to be able to trade effectively but it just doesn't seem to work much anymore. Clems eco was hit so many damn times but it didnf matter at all. It looked like serral was just throwing bodies at a wall while terran just had to hold out until zerg was all used up.
@SomeGuy-ty7kr3 жыл бұрын
uh... no, I don't think they are.... I mean, unless you didn't mean efficiently, but then I don't know what else you could have meant. In any case, if you did mean efficiently, then zerg's advantage in macro and mobility would make them unbeatable (in the hands of a reasonably skilled player). Terran and Protoss just aren't fast enough to compete with zerg economically, so they have to use their powerful units to eke out a victory against superior numbers. Zerg right now plays very on brand for them, which I like (though I'd like to see them get a better answer for end game armies than "don't endgame").
@Nova_Jan3 жыл бұрын
@@SomeGuy-ty7kr trading effectively doesnt mean trading efficiently for zerg. Zerg doesnt technically trade efficiently in any matchup. But in situations like this it dodnt matter what trades he took because he couldn't really damage the terran. These games just look like hold outs where terran doesnt really take any damage even though zerg is being played how it's meant to be played. And if and when serral tried to tech up or do something different, terran also has an answer for everything.

Is sad, cause even when Reynor won the tournament, the state of the game without any more balance patches is Zerg trying to rush the other side, doing expensive trades only to keep the enemy on hold while the other two races can just... survive and win. That's what happens when you reduce the range of all units of one race :(
@tigera63 жыл бұрын
Other than Maru, which Terran player can play the full defensive style and survive against top Zerg? And Toss double Stargate VR build is getting figured out by the Zerg as well. You are acting like Zerg is getting killed everywhere or something, while they still live strong and winning tournament.
@SomeGuy-ty7kr3 жыл бұрын
@@tigera6 yeah, I think a lot of people don't appreciate zerg's natural strengths very much. I'm not at all surprised they continue to get wins in spite of the nerfs. This is a really strange video for this guy to make this comment on anyway, 'cause Clem was anything but defensive in this. I mean, Lowko literally made a point of highlighting how comfortable the guy was hanging out on Serral's side of the map.

Okay I need to say and hopefully Lowko sees it cause he keeps saying it. I believe the orbital command is a command centre than can talk to space station, or battle cruiser, or whatever else is in orbit that brought the terran army to this location. When you get a supply drop or a MULE its basically a capsule that is thrown down to the planet or whatever. A scan is a satellite scan of an area. Lowko please see

It's crazy that there are specific builds that only work at a pro level. If you tried it at a lower level there's far too high a chance that something weird will happen because the other person isn't going for such a high-level build order, so it just happens to work. Imagine getting stuck at that level.

I think that Serral struggling these days is actually the correct term. He's no longer the top dog, not even in Europe. I'm *not* saying that Clem is bad or unskilled, I mean just look at the man's micro, but I do feel that Serral and other zerg face a huge skills cliff to multitask against widow mines. It's easier to set and occasionally reposition widow mines than to constantly be alert for them and micro against them in 4 different areas of the map.

you say, but zerg still won the world series so...
@alexhooijschuur51313 жыл бұрын
@@SomeGuy-ty7kr So? Doesn't necessarily mean anything, Reynor is also insanely good even relative to the other pro's. Perhaps he won because he played the best, not because his race is the best or completely onpar. Also, sure Reynor won Karowicza, but the only other Zerg win in recent major tournaments was Dark in Starleague 6 back in December. Protoss by comparison has 5 premier/major tournament wins and Terran has 3. So by overall trends, Zerg has been relatively underperforming as of late. (sauce: liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Recent_Tournament_Results ) I'm not saying Karowicza doesn't matter but its tunnel visioning on it is ignoring the bigger picture. A sample size of one tournament doesn't really give us the whole picture, does it? Overall, I think the races arn't too imbalanced, but I think a few years down the line we're gonna see Zerg continue to drop with their tournament results as Reynor, Serral and Dark get older and new players get better. Some of the Nerfs could really be tuned down, and underperforming units like Ultras could really use some love. Thats just my opinion anyway, but I think the data is compelling enough to be worth consideration instead of simply disregarding it becauss of a single tournament result.
@SomeGuy-ty7kr3 жыл бұрын
@@alexhooijschuur5131 hmm, this was very well thought out (so I'll be nice ;) ), and you make a decent point, although I will note that 10 of the last 19 premier tournaments (liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Premier_Tournaments) in the last year have been zerg wins. You are right in that we shouldn't use just one tournament for data (I was being cheeky here, of course), but we also shouldn't read too much into just the last few months either. (although we do have to keep in mind the recent(ish?) balance patch/zerg nerf). I will add, regardless, that I actually agree with the sentiment that zerg has been nerfed a little too hard (or at least consider it a possibility worth investigating). Certainly, if zerg becomes the new protoss, then we'll definitely need some more balancing (although unfortunately, I'm not certain blizzard is going to make any more changes).
