Kinda. I mean... look at it this way. Let's say both players are maxed with 50 drones each. One has a "normal" army composition, something like 1/3 beeing tanks or ultras or whatever, that shoots only at ground. With 100% carriers you can completly ignore these and fight with 150 army supply vs 100 army supply. And fully upgraded carriers don't mess around. I'm honestly not entirely sure if Terran has anything to actually counter that... positioned right 100 marines i guess can shoot a lot of interceptors but...

Carrier will be counter hard by bc, Yamato cannon will take out half of the carriers at the start of the battle. Ofc we have to consider same upgrade and supply.

@@ninjadejedi pure carriers might indeed be countered by BCs but there's barely ever such a thing as pure carriers that you can't preemptively go BC since BC can get shutdown real quick. Once you figure out it's mass carriers, it's too late to go BC unless you're already making BCs due to the time it takes to tech up to and then produce the BCs. Carriers, in those numbers, will absolutely shred pretty much anything. In that situation, for BCs to counter the carriers, he would have needed like at least 12 BCs with equal upgrades. Yeah, on paper, it'll work but practically? Unless you know it's coming so you prepare for it, I don't see it really working.

@@inflatablewolfie that argument is the same for everything, it take time to get a full carrier, it takes these guy not 10min to max 3-3 marine med. Anything can be counter if you know it coming, cure lost because he was not use to bc build. When cure saw carrier he opt to viking, and when he took out the shield with ghost he got nothing to pushing the carrier back.

I like the idea of starting shield batteries with lower energy. They're intended to be defensive, and since battery overcharge covers the lack of energy at home early on having lower energy makes a lot of sense. I enjoy the void ray>tempest strategy as a protoss main, but I understand the frustration of seeing it all the time. The lower energy battery might even incentivise odd strategies like proxy nexus for overcharge with a stargate proxy. I'm a fan of that.

@@Raiden08110 Honestly, Cure's mistake in game 2 was not using his orbitals to keep a constant scan watch on Hellraiser's army. He kept on scanning around Hellraiser's base from fear of an attack, not seeing the carrier production and falling for the early Colossus bait which resulted in him not making any Battlecruisers.

While it is sometimes fun to watch, I think this proxy stargate + offensive shield battery cheeses don't add much good to the game in general. Which is why I would love to see Batteries start without energy if build outside a Nexus range for battery overcharge

One thing they could do like that energy at spawn fix would be to add a variant of the explosive charge to the reaper again. It would be really fun to see a dance between the void rays and the terrains using their own base terrain to micro reapers to destroy the pylons or batteries.

Great coverage... BUT what I really like is the 4K resolution. It makes for a very clean video. And the games were good, too. Protoss relying on the proxy starport too much. I agree they should have shield batteries start out with half health, but maybe regenerate faster.

14:25 im pretty sure collosi doesnt deal bonus damage against anything, if you look at their weapon description, its just flat damage, but since it can hit several targets at once it is very effective against light

what could possibly counter 16 carriers? I find myself like this in the ladder vs Protoss 75% of the time. my Maxed Army can't deal with it. I play Zerg mostly now.

To counter maxed out Sky toss you ideally make a composition based around Corruptor/Spore/Infestor/Viper. It's tricky.

Vikings are typically considered better against carriers since, if you're close enough to fight the interceptors, having like... six or seven vikings is enough to one-shot carriers, and they are a bit more tanky iirc.
