These are all the Terran units in the "Real Scale Mod". It's a mod that allows units to be the size of what their lore counterparts would look like. Turns out the Battlecruiser is rather big.
The "SCII RS MOD (Real Scale Melee)" mod is available in StarCraft 2 on all servers. All you need to do is create a custom game with the extension mod.

Yeah Battlecruisers should be way bigger, look to the Heart of the Swarm intro cinematic for reference, at the end a battlecruiser starts falling down through the cloud layer to crash into the planet, and it's fucking MASSIVE. But this mod is pretty great anyways, because if Battlecruisers, Leviathans and Motherships were 100% to scale, they would take up the entire map.

Sci vessels should actually be larger than BCs based on canon. The one we see in the Zerg cutscene in SC1 is enormous.

it is, but if the game was a little more realistic (in the SC universe) Protoss units would be HUGE like the spear of adun, carriers and Motherships. They can easily destroy planets in the lore terran units are almost nothing compared to protoss ones (the only victories terran has have is when engaging a small group of them with brutal firepower and way larger numbers). The protoss only lost vs the zerg becuase the endless numbers of them, so terran precence is actually not a factor at all (except the queen of blades Goku wanna be part). In game just Stim/A-move FTW, it can even destroy carriers / battle cruisers somehow.

+Luis Fernando I don't think so. If you go back and rewatch the wraiths blowing the sci v up, compare the wraiths to normal fighter planes today, and then scale up. Then run a comparison to the BC in Brood War opening cin and you get that the BC should be easily as large as if not larger than the sci v.

A nuke's a nuke, regardless of destructive yield. A nuclear weapon is defined as "An explosive device whose destructive potential derives from the release of energy that accompanies the splitting or combining of atomic nuclei." Hence, its size and yield is irrelevant, if it does the above, its a nuke. Of course, weapons that don't do this are dubbed "Conventional Weapons" and use chemical energy instead. Although, WMDs outside of nuclear weapons are not classed as conventional weapons, but that's an aside for this topic. While, as you said, nukes can be meant to take out cities (Or similar high value targets), those are "Strategic Nuclear Weapons" which are used strictly against an enemy's interior, due to their massive yields. In RTSs, nukes are generally "Tactical Nuclear Weapons" (Bar Supreme Commander but, that's another beast entirely), which are nuclear weapons of a suitable size to be deployed on a battlefield where friendly forces are operating. As said by Magni56, tactical nuclear weapons, in comparison to other nuclear weapons of both classes, can range from "Tiny" yields to rather "Substantial" yields; obviously "Tiny" and "Substantial" are strictly for comparison to other nuclear weapons of both classes. Comparing any nuke to any conventional explosive will show that even a "Tiny" nuke is devastating in terms of destructive power. The sheer power of nuclear weapons becomes mindboggling, despite how easy it is to read a number and a descriptor (Tone, kilotonne, megatonne, etc).Well...that was more than expected. Anyhow, the most likely reason for RTSs using tactical weapons (Outside of balance, considering lore reasons only), is likely because friendly forces are operating in the area and need to work around such a weapon. Obviously using a strategic weapon prevents the deployment of friendly forces to the area due to its sheer blast yield.

1 kiloton would still make it 100 times larger than a MOAB, and thus quite a bit larger than the explosion seen in the video. I'd say the explosion there seems to be between the size of a regular mk84B and a BLU-82, thus equal to about 6 metric tons of TNT.

Well canon-wise The Terrans all nerfed their own nukes after destroying Korhal with them. Now they only use tactical nukes which are indeed very small, both in their physical size (There are models about as big a a 1 litre bottle) and in the radius of their explosion (about a quarter of a mile, which is STILL half a mile in diameter though). So enough to take out a few blocks for sure, but not the kind of weapons we think of when we hear 'nukes'. However the nukes here seem to be much larger than that, and given their size should probably cover most if not all of the map. They might be larger though to carry more Rocket Fuel since the SC nukes need to work on a multitude of planets, some with very high levels of Gravity, and the actual warheads could be much smaller than it looks.

This mod has since been updated, and the Battlecruiser is still insane, especially when fully upgraded. Max weapons and armor, plus the special armor and weapon upgrades, and it can also be equipped with an energy shield. Also, upgrading your marines with plasma guns really increases their power.

The SCVs seem to be too big, if I recall correctly they are mentioned as being about twelve feet tall, while the marines in armour come to about seven feet. Asides from that, great video and mod.

actually think about it this way，a marine cost 50 minerals that were used to construct the suit and weapon for the marine. A SCV mines 5 quality of minerals each time, which is one patch of mineral SCV hold during the return animation. Therefore about 10 patches of mineral SCV hold can fully consturct one suit and weapon for a marine. If a SCV is only twelve feet tall, there is no way 10 patches of those minerals can consturct a suit of armor and weapon for the marine , let alone using 80 patches of those to construct a battlecruiser. A SCV has to be much bigger than average marine or suited human in order to construct armor in few patches of the mineral they held

Still doesn't make any sense that a marine can damage a battlecruiser. Certain units should be practically invulnerable to certain units' fire. Like a battlecruiser and thor being invulnerable to small weapons.

Yeah marines shouldnt be able to damage cruisers but do you know how big the gauss rifle is? And they also have ap bullets, explosive bullets. So marines damaging thors and other large units make sense.

Tactical nukes... Does people not realize they probably wouldn't use massive fucking strategic nukes in these scenarios? Unless they're nuking from space, they'd be using tactical nuclear warheads instead. There are "medium sized" nuclear warheads that are launched by artillery and there's even smaller nukes launched from recoilless rifles, launching the nuke about 2 kilometers.

You'd NEVER get the pros to go along with it, but I'd LOVE to see a proper Tournament with this mod in. :D :D :D

In Starcraft, Terran marines were actually tiny cause of graphical limitations back then (using sprite sheets instead). Also, it's the perspective that makes buildings and large units seem small; which is intentional because it makes the game playable.

Kinda goofed. SCVs are big yea but not THAT big. They are only slightly bigger than a marine in power armor. Not 400%|+ bigger. Ghost +Spect should be smaller than the marines. Much smaller. Not just slightly. ( Most of the units are not scaled like it should be but :P ) But that is nitpick theater..

SCVs are pretty big though They are almost as tall as a two-story building. They have to be so they can assemble the Terran building more easily. Ghosts are maybe two feet shorter than a marine at most. I mean we see Tychus in full Powered armour throughout the entire Terran Campaign, and he's not that much bigger than Raynor (who is huge tbf).

if I remember correctly, the Minotaur battlecruisers are around 1-1.5 km. the Behemoth are around 2 km, and btw, the spear of Adun is around 74 km long.
