this is just an educated guess, but I image what happens, technically, with changelings, is when an enemy unit comes into their line-of-sight, their model changes to that of a unit of the race of the enemy unit that they just saw and - crucially - their threat level drops to 0 for the owner of that enemy unit, so thay effectively become creep. since the widow mine is undetectable, they don't enter the line-of-sight of the changeling, and their threat level never drops, which results in them being targeted.

Because the tournament is hosted in China it is subject to Chinese censorship laws, and certain numbers are censored because they are used to refer to the Tiananmen Square Massacre. The specific numbers are 64, 89, and 535 (64 because the massacre took place on June 4th, 89 because it happened in 1989, and 535 because it is used to mean May 35th, a popular way of referring to June 4th to try and bypass previous censorship)

I had a similar thought! Right about the time Serral dove in with the mutalisks, took out 20 some scv, and managed to NOT lose them near the end. That little save caused their utility to just keep going and going. Mutas may be flimsy but used correctly they are one of the worst to defend against.

Serial counters Maru's gameplay style directly. He is not so great against Clem or Byun. Not necessarily evidence he is goat. This is sadly predictable

Serral has improved a lot in a short period of time. He used to be slightly better then Dark before but now his trades compared to the other best Zerg's is just on a whole different league.

Uhhh how long is this "short period of time" to you? Serral's ZvT has been by far the best in the world for several years, the only Terran that has a win rate over 25% against Serral is Clem, who hovers around 40%. Just look at his records against all the top terran players, it's way better than Dark's. This year Serral is 8-1 in maps vs Maru, 8-1 in maps vs Byun, 18-13 vs Clem and 18-4 vs Cure. Those are absolutely insane numbers. So far this year, Dark is 11-15 vs Maru, 63-64 vs Byun, 25-34 vs Clem and 60-40 vs Cure. And this is not a new trend, Serral has been like that for years.

@@tigera6 Serral is waaaay better than Solar in ZvT. To extend my above comment, so far this year Solar is 10-16 vs Maru, 49-66 vs Byun, 15-10 vs Clem, and 21-29 vs Cure. That record against Clem is certainly impressive, but he's well below 50% against the other 3. Serral's ZvT is by far the best in the world.

I don't get why Serral didn't use his huge bank to build some corruptors to deal with the liberators. then transition into brood lords. yeah maru had a lot of ghosts but ling bling infestor deals with those, and it would up serral's sieging game more than the lurkers IMO.

Its about the timing, if you watch it again you will see that Maru only put down 2 extra Starport and massing Libs at around 17-minute mark. Serral had no idea about that until he saw the Libs number raise up so quickly, and its kinda late by then to transition into Corruptors/BLord. Serral would have to give up ground and 20-24 army supply to make the Corruptors which would weaken his ground army against an already max-out Terran army. In game 1 Serral was able to transition into Corruptor easier because he already open with Muta and has decent air upgrade as well.

Definitely prefer the replay over the recorded feed. The quality of the video was noticeable worse since it was a recorded feed and I find myself not caring too much for their webcams. Nonetheless excellent cast by Winter and my day just got a little bit better.

As far as I know Brenda was able to fly in Starcraft & Broodwar, but she was not able to transfuse. She was able to transfuse off creep in Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty but not fly.
