This teaches us to show more humility in face of "non-meta" strategies. Meta isnt everything. Winning is. He just beat Serral by doing the one thing Serral is never confronted with, because it isnt "meta". The best part was Lowko badmouthing how poor of a tactic this was, 20 seconds before the win.

I've always wondered why, in some matches, with creep spreading to their doorstep, burrowed lurkers/infestors wrecking their armies over and over, DTs decimating mineral lines and Observers parked over every CC, Terran pros just REFUSE to produce a solitary Raven, just the anti-armor missile and interference matrix make them great and they are free detection too, why are they not produced? I am genuinely curious

I think the main issue is that it would take a control group to be able to access the abilities quickly, so a single one isn’t very useful.

It can get yoinked by a viper and it’s interference matrix in the Zerg match up legit only hits infestors and vipers when there’s like usually a clump of them. Ghost do the job way better and scans from orbitals are more reliable than having to babysit a Raven that can die.

And to make a Raven, you need to switch your Starport to a Tech Lab, which pretty much slows down your Medivac production. Of course, you can keep switching the add-on, but yeah, it means a lot of work too.

No one should make a raven simply for its detection. A scan = + a single MULE: Basically means a lot of minerals OVER SOME TIME (Saturate your bases and minerals are plenty already) + 1 APM A raven = + a starport (not making medivacs) + tech lab (ETA: quite a while) + 200 Gas (Two medivacs) + >1 APM Basically, scan is reliable and free, raven cost gas which takes away from other more useful things.

36:15 Gumiho is giving a proof of concept to something I said in a twitch chat once. The zerg advantage of being to remax isn't as strong as it was so especially as Terran where you're units are cheap you can just build a lot of barracks and pump them out almost as fast, especially if the zerg ever has to use queens to defend and therefore aren't injecting.

always liked this kind of T playstyle, felt very fair for skill and rewards stuff and didn't feel unfair to fight against (like 2 widows killing 50supply in a sec can feel a bit unfair :P or 5 ghost sniping 10 T3 units in 3 seconds xD )

I don't understand why Serral gave up game 2. Supply count was even, Serral had 3 more workers, an additional base and I'm pretty sure Lowko recently said upgrades were even as well. I mean, Gumiho had a spike of nice micro and a decent fight near that Zerg base, but he didn't kill it... That seemed like an early gg from Serral. Not sure what happened there to make him tap out besides the pressure, which seems uncharacteristic. Idk
