PiG's speech about personal responsibility and problem solving near the end of the video struck me. I've always tried to follow this creed, but I think he really struck the nail on the head. Everyone should accept things for how they are, not as how they want them to be. Life isn't fair, competition isn't fair. The first step towards overcoming a situation is accepting the situation for how it is and work towards an answer. Not foolproof, but in a video game, you have unlimited attempts to improve given you have the tenacity. Thanks PiG!

Been stuck in a diamond rut with ling bane hydra .. tried the ling bane muta aggressive style and good lord it's like a light bulb went off! No more BS enemy drops and frantic scrambling to save my bases .. now I'm the aggressor making them panic! This play style feels like I'm way more in control. I'm 2-0 so far with easy wins against terran :) Well done you man of a pig! Your content is awesome and easy to follow. From somebody who legite wants to improve at the game and is willing to put in the effort, your guides are great. As a diamond player who regularly watches pro casts, I didn't feel overwhelmed by your guide structure. I understood everything that you were saying. Keep it up! Goodtimes

My favorite part about this entire series is how in the first game he absolutely deserved to lose tactically; but when Pig realizes his mistake his instincts kick in and he goes full pro-gamer tryhard and starts splitting units like a deep AI then goes on to crush his opponent with pure mechanical play. This game really shows the gulf between execution of noobs and veterans. You can lose tactically, but win if there's a massive gap in execution and I think that makes SC2 an incredibly interesting game. Otherwise SC2 would just be rockpaperscissors or chess.

Dude it's pretty awesome the way you're able to talk and explain your thought process while literally playing faster than you're speaking. You're often making 4-5 decisions between your macro and micro while still explaining why you did something else entirely. Can't imagine how someone can be tracking so much at once. Incredibly quick mind.

It is really an arcade mode, and bysofar i am winning most of my diamond games surprisingly. I really want to see how you deal with skytoss though. It's been a pain in the ass consistently. Vibe's approach kinda works, get lurkers upfront to tank and hydras behind. But now always

Pre make a nydus to prep for base trades. Then you can flee with drones that are trapped. I think defensive nydus is soooo underused. I love using nydus as a rally so all your units are in the nydus and can go where they are needed. Often there so focused on a frontal assault dumping reinforcements into their main xan just end the game or a cheeky defensive nydus can save a base/drones.

Amazing how many normal games pig managed to have without the cannon rush and 12 pool. Its almost every game for me in platinum 1/diamond 3. Its becoming so fucking frustrating that games last no more than 5 mins. I spend more time pulling drones off defending bunker marine/ cannon rush than I do anything else. Im shocked that PIG didnt see much of that.

Dear PiG. What about injecting on minimap? I usually keep queens on hotkey group and inject on minimap. I also use the same group of queens to create creep tumour, I use shift+click usually, so the queen which is closer and with appropriate energy automatically goes. Isn't that optimal?

I'm just starting to learn zerg as my offrace, I'm master 2 with protoss and currently diamond 2 with zerg because I have very little build knowledge. Would it be better to follow the diamond 2 guide, or skip ahead to a master 3 maybe because my mechanics are good?
@tambaz2276
@tambaz2276 2 жыл бұрын
Zerg is only a d2 offrace for me too (like 3800 zerg atm) but IMO you really don't need knowledge of Zerg builds to play Zerg. Zerg is mostly mechanics and general game sense, and anticipating the Terran/Protoss build. Just deciding when to get gas, deciding when to stop droning, and general mechanics. What I like about playing Zerg is you don't need to learn a bunch of complicated optimized builds, you just need to make generally good decisions, take generally good fights and macro well. Your overall mechanics may be good but if you're just starting to learn Zerg for the first time your mechanics while playing Zerg will probably improve a lot by just playing more games. I know you were asking Pig not me, but I would say just watch both Pig's D2 and Masters 3 videos because they probably both have good information in.

I have watched Winter's B2GM, Vibe's B2GM and PiG's B2GM. For all those complaining about how fast PiG moves you need to realise that after a week of watching him and going through his notes, everything begins to make perfect sense, this is called learning. Nothing comes for free. You are getting set build orders to follow and you are watching them being executed by one of the top zerg players in the world. That alone is priceless. Dare I say this content right here is 1000x better then any other B2GM I have watched. Fact.

Pig in AoE2 you have to queue up sheep so your vils don’t kill extra sheep. Yes you have to keep them under the TC. You can’t keep them to the side or you will get lamed because in early game that scout has nothing better to do than run to your base and steal your sheep. If you do lose sheep you can take your boars earlier and even get deer to compensate but it’s really crippling especially for Briton’s who get a bonus to sheep. Edit: Laming is BS and I consider it almost to be BM because it’s so destructive so early. It’s not like a well executed rush. It just sort of ends the game and ruins it for one player. Infact in tournaments players will use their no questions asked 5 minute remake when they get badly lamed. That’s how bad it is that players will throw a precious do over they could have used for a game with really bad gold placement as an example. That said it’s something you can stop pretty easily at least for sheep. There was apparently an idea early on in the games development of having civs that raid vils and sheep like they could steal workers from you. As it stands I’m not a big fan of AoE2 dark age eco and I’d like to see some more interesting usage of those alternative food sources throughout more of the game rather than being a mechanical/knowledge gate for new players that turns frustrating really quick and just gets replaced by farms in feudal. Alternative food sources are just a poorly explored concept in AoE2 and AoE4 really.

Depends. For bio, it is highly mobile, high dps unit comps. You always take favorable engagements, because if they aren't you just zoom away. It also breaks your wrists and you need good micro to exploit it to its full potential. Mech has fallen in and out of favor and depends if it is heavier on air. Too many variables to give a general answer, but mostly it is similar to a Protoss deathball.

The people who think they can copy what Vibe does easier than what you do are just deluding themselves. The reality is it would actually be quicker for them using your method, but people like Vibe have recognized that a large percentage of people don't want to put the work in, they just want to have fun (win) without really interacting with the game. Using Vibe's method may get them easy wins at lower levels but they will inevitably hit a brick wall because they can't actually comprehend the difference between themselves and Vibe. However, the truth is that he is outplaying his opponents even harder than you because he's essentially handcuffing himself and still winning. TLDR; Vibe's method looks easier but actually isn't and will lead to most players hitting a wall because they've neglected other skills whereas your method looks harder but will give a smoother transition to higher levels if the necessary effort is put forth. No offense to Vibe because he's just giving the people what they think they want.

I think a lot of players even at higher leagues overrate micro which is the major point one can take from vibe. Knowing what to do is much more important than how well you do it. Like I've seen countless players get to masters with no ability to micro just knowing when to attack and positioning your army correctly will get you pretty far. This is by no means free wins most of this can't be taught unless you lose a whole bunch of games to bad engagements and cheese.

Vibes approach is a great learning tool for a lot of people and he emphasizes important skills. Pig is emphasizing different things and that is good. Pig is playing way faster than vibe (complex camera locations, minimal control). That is very hard to do for most diamond. And vibe lost a lot of games in b2gm. Pig isn't losing any in these leagues. I love both series. Focus on the strengths of each.

@@dylansevitt That logic can go both ways. There are also countless players who get to masters on the back of micro and are shit at macro, honestly probably more than the other because micro is fun and people tend to do what is fun. That's why both groups are masters and not GMs or are barely GM on NA instead of 6k etc. There are multiple skills you need to be good at the game and none of them should be neglected.
