He was a murderous fascist that left hundreds (thousands?) of his own men to die simply to test the zerg. It was needless and cruel. He was certainly no great leader. He was the typical snobby nar-psycho you can find in any 90s sci fi. Also, he led an advance and capable force into complete disaster and got all of them killed in the process. If anything, he is a bit of a pathetic villain. An Eichmann, if you will, rather than a Rommel.

@@girlgarde Yeah. Not only that, but the psi distruptor's power source was only being defended by 2 marines and the rest of the base was almost empty. Why? Also they just traveled there and took it out easily in one mission. Also how did the Zerg have the numbers to beat the UED AFTER being initially thrashed by them, but not before? Another question is why did everyone on omega platform just stand around and wait to be killed? The Zerg would have no chance at survival, let alone crushing three space fleets with ease.

You would think the UED losing a fleet would make them send another larger force to reclaim a colony, seeing how the admiral's message never made it back to earth. Imagine if the EUD came back with a more advanced, more powerful force. With Niadra going around hunting protoss (still probably until she evolves or something), the new advanced UED, and the Alarak with the Tal'Darim. I can see another spin-off

i think its more a case of Duran was the last surviving Xel'Naga and took on a human body to slip into the human armies to manipulate them from within (he was the one making those zerg/protoss mutants - if you found that secret level on brood war) i think its more a case as a Xel'Naga he has psychic powers to control kerrigan because they created the zerg, but with Dugalle its more a case of using the right words to anger him and make him act without thinking

@RikkudoSennin They DID actually manage to enslave the Overmind and take control of most of the Zerg after they curbstomped the Terran Dominion of course which I enjoyed doing in Brood War..... Heh heh. Even before they enslaved the Overmind thanks to the pis disruptor, they were pummeling the zerg on at least two occasions (on Tarsonis and Aiur), they only pulled out both times because they didn't need to fight the zerg by the time they faced overwhelming numbers.
