Hey there, didn't expect the Mass Recall to be back just yet. Nice surprise. Can't wait until "The Iron Fist", I've not played through that one just yet but I know some of the surprises in store, and I'm very excited!

JayborinoPlays Leave me alone Jay. It took me 2 years and too much energy to beat that level. I must have listened to that briefing at least 50 times, and each time the Queen Bitch of the Universe said I had to do all by myself. In Brood War, that mission is too damn hard. Now I pay homage to the times I tried in vain to complete it and with it, Brood War, by conquering Omega on June 21st every year. Every year. I do it. At least twice I have to do it before I win. I can't do it in one go. But for you, your right. To Slay The Beast was a nightmare, I remember your old playthrough. Omega is only hard for me because I take out Mengsk first, I can't stand getting nuked.

I know this is depending on personal taste, but I feel Artanis shouldn't wear the hierarch-befitting bling armour in Mass Recall. Are the devs using his LoTV portrait as a placeholder for a future custom one?

Well in sc2mapster is a custom portrait very similar to the original brood war one, I figure they'll implement it sometime in the future

There really is no definitive answer as to what Artanis should look like here, because in the original StarCraft, his visuals were actually a fault (he was not supposed to appear Nerazim, what with the cut nerves and orange eyes and lack of attire), and in Legacy of the Void he has a much larger role. So none of the existing visuals for him match what he should've looked like during the Great War and Brood War.

I know it's been 5 years and this may have been pointed out or known at this point but shield batteries do in fact replenish building shields in SC1, you just have to manually command the shield battery to do that.

i have a feeling that blizzard had enlisted the help of the mass recall modders to make their starcraft hd remake, but with less limitations and achievements, and the "retrovision" filter we see in the diablo event in diablo 3 to make it feel more like the one starcraft we remember

Watching you replay mass recall on the new version has been a great experience. Some moments where I'm frustratingly saying something like, "Please don't do this, please don't do... Damit!" but I don't mind at all. Bit of food for thought, but I find it strange that, and yes I get that it wasn't introduced until legacy of the void, none of the Protoss ever thought to activate any of the three great ark ships. Had they had taken a second to say, "Oh wait, we have these ark ships that are pretty strong, let's activate them and annihilate the Zerg forces, and no need to abandon Auir." Wonder how that would have turned out

I don't reckon the opening cinematic to Brood War makes sense being between The Stand and An Iron Fist. The planet being orbited by the Aleksander is not Braxis, but some distant fringe colony that was being attacked by Zerg because were unleashed by the UED Expeditionary Fleet as a test of their power. This was the first thing the UED did in Terran space - the next thing they did was going to Braxis to form a blockade as seen in the middle of The Stand. Plus, it's a really neat opening to the whole Brood War story anyway.

When an expansion was released a year or more later, it was fine at the beginning of the three new campaigns, but narratively it does not fit between the two Protoss campaigns at all in my opinion.

Honestly I prefer the old models of classic units like dragoon and archon over the one they use in starcraft 2 coop missions. These models are way better and consist to the darker theme of starcraft.

There's a few extra units on hard difficulty. Some of the Ultralisks after the Shield Battery area were definitely never there in the original.
