Starcross 6 in the woods

I fitted the SX6 and took them for a woods test. They are not designed for the woods at all but they work. On the mud areas they have insane bite. They don't seem to suffer any wear either. I am looking forward to using them on a muddy Hare & Hounds event....

Hard! Both ends I used mousses for this. Front a 90/100 Michelin mousse with 20 hours on it. Rear was also a Michelin 140 mousse. Not much use at all so very firm inside this tyre- far from ideal for roots and rocks. The woodland floor here is generally soil based but every turn and elevation change the roots and rocks come through. I’d happily race on these tyres. I know any perceived loss of pace in the woods would be made up on open ground quite quickly. Would I want to do endless rocky climbs with them? Not sure. Need more time to test that specific terrain.

I was going to get the 5's but now definitely the 6`'s. For trail riding here (not rocks) riders like the 5's front tire for its feed back and grip.

We're these medium soft or hard? What is a good tire you'd recommend for this type of riding?

For the type of riding and terrain on the video I would suggest the StarCross 6 Medium Soft. That is what I am getting for my 2022 KTM 300 XC TPI. Rider 170 lbs., 75 KG. with riding gear on.

140/80-18 (250/450cc) size, not the skinny 125 tyre size...

Just checked...120/90-18. 140 Michelin mousse with about 20 hours on it so still pretty firm in this tyre
