Am I the only one who wants a dedicated video into the weapons? (how is DPS calculated regarding weapon orientation, pierce and durability) Thank you in advance

There is an article in game's steam community page on that and it is indeed mind-blowing. Like 50 effective durability reduces incoming DPS by 50%😲

I believe the damage formula is 100 / (100 + durability - pierce). For armor, you also add the armor rating to durability. If pierce is higher than durability then you just do 100% damage.

Sins II lacks one capital ship for every race from Sins I Rebellion expansion. There's hope we'll see them return in a future DLC for Sins II. Several are expected.

I really love the refreshed look for all the structures and ships in SOASE 2; still instantly recognizable but now all of them look massively improved over sins rebellion, which aren't bad by any means already, especially considering the age.

The game is amazing and I shout out to the voice actor for these videos! He is truly incredible! He has such a smooth and satisfying voice I could listen to him narrate an audiobook!

I loved Fighters on Vasari Ships in Sins Rebellion. It suited the playstyle of the race really well. Great video!

I'd love more tech where you can add more guns to certain smaller ships, Like the carriers getting a small gun just to defend itself. and man do i wish the akkan had a inbuilt hangar or missile weapon. Like making the pirate agreement tech gives you the option to use the pirate version of ships , the Harcka switch 2 auto cannons for missile launchers!

im looking forwards to the map designer(hoping a ingame one gets added) cant wait to do my usual give all ten faction slots their own star system slows down the game alot but its like actual empires clashing by the time u unlock the inter star jumps

There were 6 capital ship types per faction in Sins Rebellion, while we have 5 here in Sins 2. I hope we'll get to 6 per faction in Sins 2 as well

Any word on adding in more of the factions from the first game? I know it's harder with the new minor faction system, but It would be cool to have a few more in the rotation. Can't wait to see what the Harbingers are like.

Harbinger expansion, has no date announced that I've seen, but after the single player campaign which is tentatively targeted for fall 2025. Earliest I'm personally expecting it is Q1 2026, but who knows that far out

Getting colonization capital ship was almost always the right choice in Sins 1: 1. Colony frigates were priority target by AI and needed to stay out of the gravity well until it was cleared. 2. They had lower antimatter regen than capital colonizers and lost 100 antimatter when phase jumping, resulting in barely 2 effective colonized planets per frigate. 3. Capital colonizers were not that worse than other capital ships in terms of durability and firepower. Getting capital colonizer in Sins 2 is rarely the right choice: 1. Colony frigates are not priority auto-target. 2. They have same antimatter regen and don't lose antimatter when phase jumping, resulting in same colonization efficiency. 3. Capital colonizers are much worse than other capital ships in terms of durability or firepower. I won't even start about other things like: taxes to economy and no taxes to fleet supply making economy rush less viable or minor faction colonization ship item that equals around lvl2 capital colonizer ability and so on. So in this game you mostly choose capital colonizers for support abilities in mid-late game. Vasari being forced exception.

Ironically the Vasari have also the strongest cap colonizer with 30-40 high pen dps which results in a guaranteed win in the first fleet engagement. This forces Advent (which have high pen but low dps) and TEC (only low pen) players to forgo the colonizers and start with a combat cap (usually carrier) if they want to get dunked by the vasari, which results in the vasari having the higher eco start (colonizer caps buff eco), while still maintaining aggressive potential since they can simply build a second capital with their starting exotics, which the other races have to first invest in. I don´t think this game is balanced yet.

Vasari colony capital is still the right choice. Free mining slots is worth a WHOLE LOT. You don't have to pay the cost of building them or the build time to build them. Still. If I build any other of those capitals I don't level the colonize ability.

@@johnsonnwastaken6264The exception to that being the Advent Wrath, who don’t need any colony ship at all in their early expansion, and their carrier capital is in fact the fastest way they they can take a planet.

@@0x0404 Yes, I would totally agree if it was a choice. Free mining slots and high penetration + value DPS (compared to other colonizers) is great. But it is not a choice and probably is balanced that way because it is forced upon.

@@Aethid Actually, the fastest way to take a planet is using the one capital ship which is able to capture enemy ships. You can just jump in, capture and destroy all Crosovs, colonise the planet and just jump away. Sinse neutrals no longer focus on colony frigates it's a nice option for fast colonisation of many big planets. While orbital mining is now a t2 technology and orbital structures are not needed to generate economy in the beginning, Advent can have the fastest economical expansion in the beginning. Also that capital ship has, to my mind, the strongest support ability that decreases enemy fleet's effectiveness and the most unbalanced ultimate ability to give splash damage to all your fleet against all ships in an area.

As Vasari especially thats a mistake id say. Even as TEC they can be very useful, especially if you run a few Sovas to build them on the go.

Maybe I'll have to try them and see how it plays out. I play capital ship heavy Vasari. If it goes on long enough I enter combat with an Orkulus

​@@0x0404 I would suggest trying them at least. They put in work for the vasari and advent use them to keep antimatter topped up. The tec is more about hunting other corvettes or support ships in my experience. Just come in with the expectation they will die and aim for value in the losses. Some dead guardians for a corvette swarm is a good trade.

​@@IIIJG52 I tried a TEC Corvette spam one game, was a lot of fun! Sova cutting build time by 30%, plus their active ability to reduce build time, plus the research to cut build time by 50% meant I was dumping a Corvette into the battle every 7 seconds per sova, it was insane! Really push the superior TEC economy to its limit
