Wynton Marsalis is a musical "sponge". Over time, he has incorporated the best of the very best, giving a very personal impulse to that way of playing, that we love and called jazz. Health and musical longevity to this great, and of course, to all of us.

Yes. :-)

Yes. This was part of the Trumpet Summit concert of that year which included Clark Terry, Wynton, Benny Bailey, Jon Faddis, Roy Hargrove, Nicholas Payton, Terrell Stafford, and Stepko Gut.

Did you notice this with Mulgrew Miller on keys?

Heck yeah. And to anyone out there who likes the opening Mulgrew / Wynton duet section of this performance, check out the recent release "In Harmony", which features Mulgrew in duets with Roy Hargrove. Mulgrew is a fantastic accompanist in this kind of setting and he shines when he gets a solo piano turn. What a loss for jazz and humankind that he's gone now.
