Ahhh that sure looked like a great cup of coffee with all that crema on top. I could just about taste and smell it. I have never tried straight shots. I have only ever had Americano, moka etc. Watching this video made me think I need to try a straight shot sometime. My trouble is that I enjoy coffee so much that I don't want the experience to end too quick. My Americano lasts me a while. I may really enjoy a straight shot but then it is all over way too quick. lol

Thanks for another great review Mark, that's quite a useful machine for home or trail use. It's quite fancy, though, and you might want to trade your Tilley for a top hat as you enjoy that crema. 😊

Does that device have some issues with fines in the cup? As I noticed when it first released (10:17) it looked like it some ground coffee escaped (it might just be spatter). Personally I would prefer an actual steel portafilter without the silicone (I find proper portafilters fairly easy to knock the puck out). Definitely a bulky design, plus it seemed that the minipresso gr2 produced more crema. I will again mention the nanofoamer V2 for those who like cappuccino or lattes. Great little device for foaming milk.

Consider reviewing the Kichvoe Espresso Coffee Filter. It folds flat, is stainless steel, ultra fine mesh, weighs 15 grams and costs $15. It can be used as a water pre-filter also. P.s., the iClimb table works great.

I have the same filter by another brand (Buphalo). I believe I showed it in another video. I will dig it out and see about doing some comparisons. Thanks for commenting

Nice review, Mark. After trying different espresso makers, do you have a favorite? Will you consider trying the aeropress espresso attachment? I’m curious about the taste compared with these other devices.

Choosing my favourite portable espresso maker is hard. Based on simplicity maybe one of the electric ones I have reviewed but based on compact, light weight, I would say the Wacaco GR2. However, Wacaco is coming out with an electric version that looks interesting. I have not tried the AeroPress attachment but might yet. It does make a true espresso as it can not reach the required pressure but I am interested also in what it does taste like. Thanks for commenting

I love coffee and have probably bought every coffee/espresso-making machine - I'm serious at least $5,000 worth of brewers. Last week, I bought Nescafe GOLD coffee and espresso, and I must say they are 95% of the way to the best cup of coffee/espresso I've had in 50 years of coffee making. Nescafe GOLD is NOT instant coffee - it is freeze-dried coffee from the world's largest coffee producer. Maybe I'll get tired of it, but for now, it easily beats the equipment I've been using for the past five years, and I thought I had mastered coffee and espresso. I bought the Nescafe GOLD Medium coffee and the Blonde espresso.

@@MarkYoungBushcraft Everyone has their "ideal" cup of coffee/espresso - the Newscafe fits mine but it may not be everyone's cup of tea...

You do have a lots of stuff sent to you. No real critic except, do we all need this all? You must have a huge warehouse :;

I do have a good amount of gear sent to me to review. I see it as showing people options and hopefully answering questions I would ask if I was interested in buying one. Yes, my wife reminds me I have way to much "stuff" stored in my gear room. Thanks for commenting
