I use to wear Wolverine Durashocks years ago. Loved them, then they stopped making them and started the "Multi shock". Wasn't a fan of those. Glad to see the originals coming back.

Every time I see you guys talk about local brands like Knaf knives, it always makes me think of Grip6. What goes super well with High Quality Boots? High Quality local made Socks! You guys gotta do some collabs like you do with Grip6!

Honestly I had some of these I wore as dailys as a lineman. They were Wellingtons, and were actually really good for what they were and the price. Now I wear PNW everyday instead of just having a pair of PNW climbing boots

I use that same Gerber knife, but I never use the clip. I removed the clip on the day I bought it to make it more pocketable and I love it. It's unoffensive, so when I find my self in places that would complain about a "real" knife, it's no problem.

I watch this channel to see things I can't see on a manufacturers site, or even if I go into a physical store and check the boots. I want to see the full construction that you can only check when you destroy the boot to inspect it. While the expertise is appreciated, all you're generally doing in these "no cut" videos is telling me things I could read off the product page or a quick google search, just stretched into 10 minutes of "content".

Question, when you cut in half, why do you first cut with an exacto knife and then the machine, why not straight with the machine?

I’ve always assumed it was for safety to stop the band saw from catching any of the upper and biting and pulling it in, could be wrong though I have no experience with band saws or cutting shoes in half 😂
@tonydragon78418 күн бұрын
Thin/high material on a band saw is highly likely to get pulled in an odd direction or bunch up from the blade catching it, way safer to cut the thin part and then do a straightforward cut from where that meets the sole
@atomiclizzard28818 күн бұрын
Saws aren't great for cutting floppy materials, with recip saw teeth just grab the material and shake it up and down instead of cutting it because it has no structure. And with a band saw it would try to pull the material through the gap between the table and blade and get stuck.
@jimmylarge114818 күн бұрын
@@tonydragon784I think it’s more asmr that started before he got his band saw. Now it’s more traditional the way he does it. Traditional to him that is. You could just saw them in half with a band saw. A sawzall or jigsaw would grab and flop and shake but not a band saw.
@tristankelsey174616 күн бұрын
You don't want the band saw blade getting caught up and ripping the boot out of your hands or worse pull your hands into the blade

Do redwing supersole 2.0 and supersole x
@ThuggaManeLaFlare18 күн бұрын
i have been asking him to do these for years. But I actually did this myself when one of my supersoles started delaminating. Here are some details: its a fiberboard midsole topped with a felt like layer (which is what you see under your removable insole). There is a canvas(?) gemming that is glued and has a few staples attaching it to the fiberboard and the leather upper in parts. The gemming is stitched through the upper to the plastic/rubber welt. But ALL of this is drowned in a crumbly black foam material that deteriorates over time. There is also a fiberglass shank. And on the outside of that crumbly soft foam is the hard exterior of the outsole mold. So long story short its all synthetic components and, in hindsight, not worth resoling using leather/conventional cobbler methods. Perhaps its worth sending back to redwing for a resole. I'm not buying another supersole.

Cut it. My go to factory floor safety toe shoes since 2005 have been Durashocks in shoe form. Ready to replace my second pair. They don’t get daily use any longer, but were alternated with a different shoe for daily use for a number of years. I wouldn’t say they’re great, but don’t look like a safety toe and comfortable enough for daily wear.

I was literally looking for a review of the durashocks on the other channel like 2 days ago. They are my go to boot and several of my coworkers also. My feet are always dry and warm no matter what weather im in. They also dont get too hot in the summer. I'm in northern CA valley, so it gets 100< in the summer and 30> and very wet in the winter. It can be difficult to find a year round boot. Please cut them open.

I need help picking a boot! Maybe I'm asking too much from a boot but.. I'm after an everyday chelsea boot that I can pretty much put with any outfit, maximum comfort, have a bit of style, not too work boot looking, with a good height boost. Was thinking of the RedBack Great Barries as im in Australia. Please send some recommendations!

Thursday Boots Cavalier. Any color will work but if you want one that can easily do casual to dressy, I would go with the rich mahogany color way. Hickory would work as well. If you want something with a rounder toe box check out the Thursdays Duke in either Brown or Brandy for all around do it all boots.

Regarding reaching out to brands. I would like to hear your take on Gaucho Ninja. Barefoot shoe company that i believe are the only one in the barefoot realm that does what they does. High quality leather goods that looks to be on par with traditional boot brands, but i haven't tried them.

Please cut this in half. This boot is exactly the type my coworkers would buy, and we need to know if it will last! My biggest fear is the direct sole infusion. You have got me hooked on "It MUST be a Goodyear welt." and my fear is that the sole will delaminate and have the boot "talk" within six months. My crew and I are Landscapers/Maintenance workers. We'll walk on asphalt edging, turf grass for weed-wacking, ladders, lifts, rocks, mulch, ect... We work in the Florida high humidity and heavy seasonal rains. We consider it money well spent if the boots last a year. The more information we can get, the better our decisions when buying.
