Frame Trap excerpts are a great way for people to easily find your game discussions. Feedback: Right at the start, say which allies have played the game and how much. Also suggestion for Damiani: come with more of a structure for how you'll describe the game. Jumping right into encumbrance/oxygen is a little too specific.

Yeah, unfortunately I just think he's not that familiar with ElderScrolls/Fallout games and their mechanics so he's kinda getting hung up stuff that could've been settled in one sentence ie "All of the ElderScrolls/Fallout systems are present..." which I hope doesn't sound like I'm hating on Damiani because the guys great and is very knowledgeable but that maybe it would've been more streamlined if someone thats played a ton of all the ElderScrolls/Fallouts would be able to a different more encompassing review.

Most podcasts have time stamps so you can skip ahead. The only thing that matters is knowing what content is in the video before clicking, because you might accidentally avoid it. But I do agree chopping stuff out like this is good. Makes it easier to notice.

@Bombasaur101 Don't do any exploration until the end of the main story (there will be a cut off point once your on the last mission, save then do new game + if you really want to but I suggest from there to just go out and do random things at that point). Much of this game is a complete opposite of how Bethesda has done exploration in the past and have to go through sometimes 5 loading screens to get where you want. This may be the first time where the main story is the best part of the game not because it is any better than usual but due to how disconnected the exploring aspect is.

IGN's 7/10 is so refreshing to hear, all the gameplay looks feels and plays like Fallout 3, some of the reviewers highlights were boarding a ship and going room to room mopping up enemies but even that pinnacle of 'good feel' in the game is just wandering around while lifeless npc's take ten seconds to react>aim>miss you as you oneshot them all from half an hour into the game I'm glad we're getting 7/10s, everyone should expect more from a company making the same game on repeat for 15 years, especially when the Outer Worlds, Baldurs Gate and No Man's Sky exist and do so many of these systems so much better, hell even Fallout 4 which I felt was a step down from New Vegas handles a lot of things better than Starfield unless we magically gain scifi inventory management upgrades 40 hours in.

And then because they have a behind-the-scenes developer showcase all of the sudden people were like, "Holy smokes, this game looks incredible!" But I'm sitting here thinking it sounds like the usual Bethesda fare --- no thanks I don't want to go around collecting sandwiches, and having the Oblivion Fan appearing out of no where isn't at all a signal that Bethesda is breaking any boundaries...

Oliver found that performance dipped in cities, which is what Damiani reports. I think it's DF that dropped the ball here because at the end of his report Oliver calls Starfield "super polished" but these bugs that Damiani and Blood both mention sound like the same old Bethesda Jank™ to me.

I’m confused, other people are saying there is fast travel. That you can open the menu and pick a destination and just go. Don’t have to into the ship and fly… etc. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Either way, game is not for me and I hope those looking forward to it will have a great time. Love you EZA❤

@DanLuxe In the game you have a maximum carry weight of 100 pounds. When you go over the maximum carry weight you become encumbered which slows you down and makes you unable to fast travel. So to be able to get rid of this status effect you have to get rid of enough stuff in your inventory so that your carry weight is below that 100 pound maximum.

PC games don't usually have frame caps under 60fps. But this game is pretty CPU and GPU heavy, so you need good hardware to get 60fps above 1080p.

I'm having a vastly different experience so far. The game is a blast. Performance has been stable on the Series X, and it looks great. It does start off a little slow story wise for the first couple hours but I'm really enjoying my time with it. Just play the game for yourself and find out.

I will say it was a bold choice to have Damiani review this game, especially since he's not really played much ElderScrolls games or any Fallout games. I haven't decided if it was a very smart move or it was kinda a miss. That Cup Head tutorial video pops in my head, but at the same time, Damiani is already known to be competent when it comes to playing games. But if he doesn't have a lot of experience with the Bethesda/Fallout/ElderScrolls type of games, is he going to be able to trim the fat and get down to the meat and beans of the real issues?

I guess it's a double edged sword. I never played any of those games except for Fallout 2 way back when, so for me, it's actually great to get a review from someone with the same perspective as me as he will likely appreciate the same things I would or take issue with the same things I would. Then again, he might not be able to say what the improvements compared to older games are which would be important for veterans of Bethesda's games.

Reviewers play fast and are doing most available content on one run thru/character. That's not how you extract the best experience from these games. I need to see core BGS players impressions and comparisons specifically vs FO4. It may not win too many GOTYs this year, but the legacy of it remains to be seen.

I'm personally hyped for the game, but it feels like there is little hype overall now that this is a Microsoft exclusive. The game will do well, but it would probably sell 10 million more copies (and way more over lifetime) if it was on the PS5. There a large part of the power console audience (more than 50%) that isn't involved in this one, and you can feel it.

I don't have an Xbox Series X or S, my PC isn't upgraded enough for a game like this, and so far there hasn't been anything exclusive to the new Xbox consoles that interests me enough to be worth upgrading, so I've stuck with the PS5. Last console generation it was the other way around, Bloodborne was the only PS4 exclusive that interested me. I'm still skeptical on this one too, given Bethesda's recent track record.

Shame the planets are so empty (mods can fix) but that was predictable, some of the worst AI in AAA games in a long time (mods will 100% fix), inventory management is laughably bad (mods can fix), and the game takes WAAAAAAAAY too long to get going properly (mods might be able to fix). Either way, seems like a solid foundation to build off with mods.
