Guides for starfield creation kit is exactly what we need more of!

Thank you, for this tutorial. I'll definitely be referencing it a lot. I knew Starfield's worlds were going to be some nightmare of cobbled-together worldspaces and windows, but I wasn't expecting just how confusing it is.
@joeranadae32476 ай бұрын
A couple of things I discovered while following the tutorial: 1. Locations has a sub-branch related to which planet you're trying to edit. New locations can be placed under the planet you intend, which I believe is why the system here thought it was a parent location in the tutorial. 2. The galaxy view map is finicky when displaying a selection on the planet, however it will display a selection in the upper right-hand side of the render window with biome and locative data of your selection. (In short, the blue icon may be missing, but the selection is still valid.) A wonderful tutorial with easy to follow steps, thank you so much for taking the time to explain this system!

@@InvokerGray cool, thank you. I'm reluctant to adding planets to existing stars, as I'm not sure how it would affect the game.
@Thisandthat89087 ай бұрын
@@donaldtennant1687 that sounds like you should start with smaller ideas. Even without creation kits there have been workarounds to change planets. I'd love to get rid of the utter nonsense that is Earth in Starfield. With all it's weaknesses, it should be a great base for mods. CK performance isn't great though.

Thanks for the tutorial, Creation kit guides for Starfield are like gold dust atm. I'm wondering if I wanted to create a location just outside New Atlantis, a walkable distance, would it still be the same method you outlined, or would it it just be editing one of the surface cells? I appreciate any and all help.
@InvokerGray6 ай бұрын
I've read mixed results with the new changes you would make doing that. Use the cell view list to find New Atlantis, then use the render window to move into the spot you like. Then link your new location to that cell.

After you place a map marker, edit it's properties (double click it) Go to the Marker Data tab then select the "visible on star map" checkbox. It will show up in planet view now. Also you want to check "can travel to" so you can land your ship.

@Pal3rider7 ай бұрын
@@InvokerGray Hi! I'm soft-spoken in general, too. I found a couple of things useful when recording vids. For instructional vids, I plan ahead as much as possible, and this includes; Making a script. Sounds obvious right? Having a script is good for me for two reasons; 1] It helps me not get mixed up, 2] It helps me when making 'subtitles'. To help with 'blocking' unwanted sound I bought a 'shield' that goes around microphone [even webcams] - these can be expensive, but basic ones can be made from card and cheaply available foam or even polystyrene such as used in packaging. I usually record audio separately, then add it to video. This enables me much better control over how the audio fits the video - including sound levels / volume. If you are recording video and sound at the same time, you still have options to split the audio and video [see below]. Splitting Audio from video either by recording separately or via software may seem a bit of a 'chew' but really can help. There are lots of video and audio tools available online to help with this. There is no need to pay for expensive software when there is free to use stuff available [like Audacity, Davinci Resolve and Handbrake]. It may also seem like an uphill challenge to learn how to use new tools, but an hour or so with tools like those I listed and help from online tutorials, and you'll be good to go. Good work so far and really appreciated. Keep it up and good luck going forward.
