Beyond the bug fixes I'd like to see deeper interactions with familiar npc's. Like Cora Coe. I have Sam and Cora on my ship and it would be nice if you could give Cora books. Giving Sona better clothing and having her befriend Cora would make the game feel more alive. When an npc says 'Hi' it would be nice to say it back in passing. While Starfield doesn't exactly feel dead it does slightly boring in respect to npc's. IMHO

I enjoyed the game, playing for around 160 hours and that's it, the world they created can't keep me invested in the game for years like Skyrim and oblivion did... As much as I would love this game to be awesome it turns out to be mediocre and boring after some hours ... There is no sense of exploration, you find the same 10 variations of buildings in random locations on every planet over and over again! Where is the exploration when you go to the exact same building 50 times and every item and enemies are in the exact same location....

The largest map, aka when you load anywhere on a planet, is only like 2000m. Its tiny, thats basically the same distance of White run and dawnstar. Elder SCrolls and fallout games all have a 4x the map size with their exterior cell. "bUt ThErEs A bUnCh Of PlAnEtS" And they are all empty, less POIs than Skyrim in the same distance, on top of the fact it only loads ONE exterior cell at a time, and considering its mostly empty it AND randomly generated, its not even taking up a 1/4 of the memory. Then add that all planets are literally the same, there are like 5 maps it chooses from when you select a location to land, its not "900 planets" they repeat. AND the cells dont even have npcs, you have to load ANOTHER cell where the people are like the town or city, cant just walk in. Then add how the npcs are stupider and simpler and how they arent like classic beth npcs, they arent really in he world, they load in and load out like a visual effect. No items, aimless walking, no dialogue. So you KNOW they saved space using dumb npcs with extremely simple scripts to walk in a circle all day then despawn.

I think right now they are doing base game support with Destiny style story expansions. I think Destiny's business model makes significantly more sense with their game and the fact that they are calling it an expansion is key to understanding their strategy. It will likely create possibly a new dimension that you will go to where you cannot get back. I also think it is a call back to Shattered Grid from the Power Rangers Comics where Lord Drakkon is the villain and possibly a new dimensional fleet that you have to fight.

I have owned Starfield since early release and have yet to download it. Why? It's a Bethesda game and as the god Tod says "It just works". So no way was it going to launch complete, bugfree or with all the content you would expect. It's that final point about the content that is most worrying with the new business model BGS and MS are pursuing. It's clear that with the greed monkeys in charge that support to the fan base will be dropped for a cash grab, by milking the gamers for modded support. What really scares me is the slow turn of the screw on the modding community to push a paywall platform, with licensing, propriety software tools and even the OS been used to totally monopolise the market. It is MS after-all, a corp that has been fined so many times for anti-consumer and monopolistic activities.

All of those “fixes” will do nothing to change their game from being soulless and boring. If they release a new planet or area that is hand made, and not procedurally generated, then THAT would be a good step in the right direction. Until then, this game will continue just being a mediocre experience overshadowed by Bethesda’s earlier games.
@Apoqsi11 ай бұрын
Agreed. The core issue to me will always be their decision to go with 1000+ empty proc-gen planets over handcrafted maps on a handful of planets. But there is not a thing they can do to fix that. Honesty coming into it, I was expecting Wish Brand version of Mass Effect... but it was honesty somehow even less then that? I was kind of hoping to go into a bar an see weird aliens or talking lizard wizards lol.... but I got no aliens "other then the honestly forgettable alien wildlife", no cool alien fish, no talking aliens or interesting creatures at all really. Spoilers* Elder Scrolls like Magic/Powers, but not as fun or good? Everyone is your basic boring crusty Bethesda NPC with somehow even worse AI and less interaction features then even in Skyrim.... that now has the bad Oblivion Zoom from there older games that zooms into there crusty vanilla NPCs... that look better then Vanilla Skyrim/Fallout but not even close to as much as you would hope after 13+ Years since Skyrim came out. It is less of an RPG and more of semi-linear collectathon. You are also REALLY geared to be the good guy and punished pretty hard for trying roleplay as a pirate or maybe hitman/assassin, anything bad... even just picking up an apple out of view might get the entire solar system after you somehow, and your 4 whole crappy followers will leave your butt for doing so. It is even worse then oblivions systems legendary meme worthy "Stop, You Violated the Law!" Guards. This game, and what is going on with the recent update to Skyrim is disappointing. Very happy I stopped Skyrim updates a long time ago.

They released a half built game and are going to milk it for money for years with new versions and paid mods and creation club. Its a scam thats going to last yen years. You be better off waiting five years pr more cause then youll have a full game and not the game template that people paid 60 dillars for. The fact they worked on it for ten years and this is the result is sad. I had more fun dying over and over in elden ring than playing starfisld

Bethesda is out of touch with the community, and whatever "magic" they once had has evaporated, Starfield is a hollow shell, if thats the best modern Bethesda can do with 8 years of development time TES6 is truly screwed

There is far too much bitching about starfield, some of us get enough drama without having to deal with kids that cant move onto a different game when they are disapointed. It used to be the normal thing back in the day, a game was advertised without gameplay, you would think it was awesome, you bought it, played it and regretted it and moved on to the next game. No idea whats up with this generation, ive pumped 300 hrs into starfield enjoyed it and played 2 other games since and im on a 3rd. Its starting to be worth tuning out for a few months just to not hear the bitching.

Oh, I agree that a lot of it goes overboard and that many people focus far too much energy on the things they hate/dislike.

I remember people bitching about Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Loved both those game and logged at least a 1k hrs in each. And I’m extremely pleased Starfield. The creatures are amazing and well thought out.

Yah this game has become one you uninstall and come back to two years from now when they work all this shit out. There are so many better games out right now.

Between the decline of modders interested in the game, the impressive blandness, and the suspiciously missing features (like actual land vehicles) that are probably going to be resold as dlc I'm really glad I held off on getting it. I'm curious now if we've reaches peak blandness or if we can go blander.
