Yes, this entire recording (and thumbnail making and title making) I was certain it was "Algamest"... I then realized on a review view after upload- I finally read the name on the screen- that it is in fact "Almagest"... Corrected thumbnail and title, but keeping the video as is lol. I r smart

Could you do a video on how to start out on a starvival play through? I’m wanting to do a survival run but the beginning is giving me trouble with feeding, paying, and getting up an outpost on a planet that won’t suffocate you before you have adequate oxygen tanks. Or any suggestions would be appreciated as well.

@MrMercedes2012 wats up MrM! Thank you for your time and request! I can probably satisfy both options. First, I've started now 3 survival fitted type playthrus. I'd agree that mods and video cuts mean it hasn't shown all/explained a lot of details- but they give an outline for how, imo, to set yourself up for success on Survival. I def could, and now will do, a video that gives some tips/tricks that are focused on a survival run, and specifically that beginning/start of the game. Great idea my friend for sure! My basic points would build down to: 1) you need credits. Collect and sell EVERYTHING that you can. If following a non modded start- you can completely loot the mining base at vectera, the dungeon on kreet, and the debris from the space battles. Collect ALL that you can, store in Frontier, and wen you're finally at Jemison- spend an early level point on Commerse and SELL EVERYTHING lol. 2) You're in New Atlantis now- After visiting the Lodge, take a few moments to explore NA. Go to the Residential District and visit CJs Food Store. Stockpile food and drink. You could shop around for O2 canisters (if using TNs O2 mod), but you can also get those at most every human occupied poi in the Quests and exploring 3) do all of the quick non combat focused side quests in NA. This will help get you all of the initial credits you'll need, introduce you to the vendors you'll want to know, and level you up. Help with the Tree, Help Sgt Yumi, Help the Bartender, Get Art from the Well, Check out the Brown Outs, and help the Medical Center. There's TONS to do around NA. 4) You should now have a decent amount of credits, have gained a handful of levels, and have plenty of sustenance items at the ready. You could def use some of your credits at a shop to get better weapons/gear- but running a poi or 2 will get you the same goods- for free. Free is your friend. 5) Nesoi is a GREAT planet, imo, that has a breathable atmosphere and is beautiful to build an outpost at. If you're using the new mod that makes you have to pay for your outposts- Nesoi is an unsettled system so there is NO registration fee. If not using that mod- you could build anywhere without worry of a fee. 6) For getting the initial materials needed for your first outpost- the Frontier starts out with a few essential resources to get a couple structures down. Otherwise, once you have a couple credits- New Atlantis has shops that carry everything you'd need to get started. Tons of basic building resources between Jemison Mercantile and UC Distribution. The clothes store across UCD and the electronics shop in the Well have all the manufactured resources you'd need for advanced building. I honestly just buy my building materials more often than not. I Collect wat resources I can in the field- but I mostly just hit the vendors. I hope that helps my friend! 🔥💪🫡🤙

@ that would be awesome! I’m going to be doing 2 role playing playthroughs, one as the heroic military guy so maybe like a bounty hunter or I could get one of the mining mods and use that background, the other as maybe an evil scientist to take advantage of xenomaster. The hardest decisions I had with my test runs was trying to figure out what to start out with priority wise, taking care of food or finding a starting outpost for basic materials and the ability to make the oxygen tanks, or just soloing it for awhile to help keep costs down(which sucks because normally run with a few companions). I don’t plan to do really any of the constellation missions til I have a few outposts and my skills leveled to give the idea that I’m joining as some kind of built up character. Any thoughts or suggestions to make those runs better?

@MrMercedes2012 those are 2 of my personal favorite type of rp runs with this game! You'll def have a blast with either for sure. For me- Starting with the Bounty Hunter/Minig Background. I'd consider the paid mod StarSim Mining Conglomerate by Quarter Onion Games. It adds so much- but one of the main things is it makes Argos as close to a functioning faction as one could get. Using it- could rp that after retuning the first artifact to the lodge, say you've got stuff to do. Get paid by argos in the commercial district and then head up in to orbit to the argos hq station. There is a mission board there with argos jobs. Tons of Mining and defending jobs. Other than that- go to Cydonia. Thats where I started this current run. Can work for Trevor doing the Mining jobs on Cydonia- while also working with the Trackers Alliance member at the entrance to Cydondia. A good mission I use to give an in universe reason for me going to Cydonia- the old lady in the park of the residential district of new Atlantis. She has you take a letter to Cydonia for 1k credits. For this flavor rp could also go to gal bank while in NA to do the collections missions. So something like: vectera kreet tutorial, get to jemison and deliver artifact, go to gal bank and then argos in commercial district, letter from residential district. Go up to argos hq in orbit. Can get jobs from argos hq. Once in cydonia can do work for Trevor and the Trackers Alliance. Quick, easier, good money. For mad scientist there's only one initial way.. UC Faction Questline lol. Asap. Imo, of course lol For survival it's just like lesson 1 for Fallout 4 survival- take your time. Even if you think you're going slow, go slower. The moment you rush, that's when, for me, the trouble starts. Earns some credits. Build up your resources. Then expand out. I hope that helps my friend 💯🔥💪🫡🤙
