No problem and yup, you got it! Additionally you can add a bunch of parts like extra fuel tanks to a ship which it doesn’t actually need to operate, dupe that ship, and then sell all of those fuel tanks off of the duplicated ship. They’ll of course get you credits in return and also hold the slot of the ship so you can dupe over it again and repeat this process.

You can use the same trick to sell unregistered ships. Go to the sell screen and use A+RB/LB. If your only registered ship is your main, the timing will be slightly different. LB/RB microseconds before A.

I wondered if that would work at some point afterwards, but never cared to try it as I didn't see much of a point. If I had an unregistered ship than I'd just register it for however much and then duplicated it afterwards and onto another registered ship slot so it would also always be registered. Still, it's nice to know this works for whatever case it may come in handy for someone. Thanks for the info! :D

Keep in mind you should try this at a vendor, like the one in New Atlantis. I tried this a few times on both controller and mouse and keyboard at an outpost landing pad and it never worked. I got it to work second try in New Atlantis on mouse and keyboard.

Interesting, I wonder if that's actually a factor for everyone then. I mean, I guess you'd probably want to do it where you can sell parts/ships anyway though so a ship tech makes the most sense. Thanks for the info!

This is for Xbox X Series To all those who game keeps crashing when trying to save your ship, don't do it at your outpost, try at a vendor. My game kept crashing everytime I tried to save the dup'd ship. I switched from my outpost to the ekland ship yard and it worked.. Kind off.. I can edit the dup'd ship but it doesn't let me sell it even though it says its registered. Juat make sure you make a save before trying to dup your ships as it can and has corrupted saved games.

First and foremost you should check out my new video as it provides a better place to do this glitch as well as a better way to use it to make credits. I'll link it here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGPImINojM14idk Now in regards to that above linked video, to best deal with crashes on any system, I would recommend these things. Save your game before you first do the glitch. Save your game after you have successfully duped your ship and sold the parts off of the duped ship. You can then attempt it again, but in the case of a crash, won't lose the progress you've already made with the glitch. Do the glitch at the location I was at in the video which is the Stroud-Eklund Showroom in the Neon Core. It's a small separate room you load into so not much around for the game to handle alongside the glitching you're doing. The kiosk there also has 160k credits every time which is the best you can get from any ship vendor. As for what you mentioned about selling the ship, you wont have to do that with the video I linked. You'll be selling parts off of it and then duping over that same ship slot with your expensive ship to sell parts off of again.

@@coryhoffman2011 briefly in the vid, slap fuel tanks weapon etc on the ship before you dupe it then dupe, then sell those things then dupe over the gutted shell again and again. Always MAKE SURE THE DUPE SHIP IS SET TO ‘HOME’ or it will crash

the only thing that sucks is that you have to have ships in your inventory to do it. i thought it added to it lol and you have to have them registered if not then you just only make 3k off it

If the ship you’re duping over is registered than the duped one will be too. As for needing ships to dupe over, yeah it would be nice if it just added them, but the most efficient way of doing this actually doesn’t require selling a whole ship you duped. Build a ship up with a ton of fuel tanks for instance, dupe it, sell the fuel tanks off of the duped ship, and then dupe over it again to rinse and repeat that.

I have an updated video I posted a little ago for this showing a better spot to do it both in terms of chance of crashing as well as credits you can get from it. Would definitely recommend checking it out - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGPImINojM14idk As for crashing on Xbox in particular, I can't speak to it much as most of my testing has been on PC. I did have a crash here and there, but I feel like part of it may have been due to doing it on New Atlantis where there was a lot more around me in game. The place I show in the video I linked is much better as it's just a little room separated off by a loading screen. I've had no issues with crashes there, but again I'm also on PC. As long as you stay on top of saving after each successful dupe attempt and selling parts off though, you'll be all good even if you get a crash occasionally. It can be annoying, but it's not the end of the world and this is still the fastest way to stack up on credits after patch.

@@DemonAsylum ok sweet yea so I found out if u try to use a duplicated ship it’s invisible and if u get up out of the cockpit u just fall through the map. But if u keep the org ship u duplicated I didn’t have issues.

I may be wrong, but I think I saw that if you make some sort of change to the duped ship afterwards than it wont do that. Or maybe it was if you make it your home ship. I'd try both. Feel free to report back as well. Thanks! I guess it doesn't matter much for doing this glitch as you're duping a ship solely to sell parts from it and that's it. Not to actually use it.

Everything done according to video and everything happens exactly as the video with the exception of no duplication. I am using the mouse & keyboard method. 2nd edit also tried with a controller still no luck. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or what.

I would assume you’re correctly following along with the video and so aren’t doing anything wrong. More likely you’re just getting unlucky with timing. Many say controller is easier though I don’t see a difference, but maybe focus on trying with that and then also try pressing the button to change the slot of the ship just barely quicker than the button to open the ship builder. Yes you want to get the ship builder to open of course, but if the game doesn’t first register the swapping of ship slots than it won’t matter.

Doesn’t seem to work. Can duplicate no problem, modify the ship, add tons of modules to it. Save changes. Save game. Go back in, duplicate again, try to sell parts from the duplicated ship, game just crashes (Xbox Series X). Tried it a bunch of different ways but it seems to corrupt your game. Reverted back to a previous save for now

Interesting, haven't had any issues myself so far or had this type of thing reported to me before yourself. My first question would be, are you duplicating your home ship? Not sure this matters, but any details could play a factor and allow me to do more targeted testing. The other thing I'd ask and that is likely more important is just how many parts are you adding to your ship? Like many things we've seen be the case on Xbox, if you go over board, it can result in major lag and or even crashes. I would test the glitch with more of a barebones ship that you're only trying to sell a few part off of, just for testing sake. If all goes well, keep adding to it until you clearly hit some sort of wall where you're getting lag/crashes, assuming that turns out to be the issue anyway. Let me know! I'm happy to continue helping as best I can.

@@DemonAsylum not my home ship. I have three ships. I bought a fourth, the cheapest ship the merchant had, stripped it down to barebones. Saved. Went back in, added six fuel tanks. Saved. Went back in, duplicated. Saved. Went back in, removed the fuel tanks from the duplicated ship. Went to exit and confirm the changes (selling the fuel tanks basically) and just crashed back to Xbox main interface

If not than I would to see if the result is the same. Also, is the ship that you're trying to dupe over (the one that will be lost) registered? Just like with the home ship comment I mentioned, idk if this will matter either, but again I'm just trying to narrow things down.

Piece of advice for anyone trying to streamline this process Make sure you have at least three ships slots one for your home ship And two for your money making ships Take a ship put the most expensive weapons you can on the ship duplicated over a different ship Then sell all the expensive Parts off of that ship go back to your original copy copy it over onto the partially sold ship and repeat the process Each cycle is substantially cheaper and easier and quicker than if you were to sell the ship wholesale This morning on Xbox I've been averaging about 70 thousand credits per cycle and each Cycle takes a little under a minute You could probably also slap a metric ton of expensive engines on there and make each cycle more profitable but that's the only really applicable when you're trying to build the best ship you can

From the filler gameplay? Celebrai II. If you look in the bottom left hand corner on the radar thing and that shows your oxygen, you'll actually see the name of the planet you're on. I think it goes unnoticed by a lot of people, but now you know :D

Oh you mean after duplicating a ship, you make the duplicated one your home ship? Yeah if that works than by all means. I was just selling the duplicated ships/parts so didn’t see a need for registering.

I believe if the ship you’re duplicating (so the one that will be lost) is registered than the one taking its place that got duplicated will be registered too.

Ships are worth so much less to sell after you purchase them so even after duping i dont understand how this makes any money. And sometimes it takes 20 minutes to find and take over a host ship and also the money it costs to register the duped ship to sell. Any help would be appreciated

@@DemonAsylum after I made a duplicate ship and sold it I noticed all my crew falling out of the cockpit, like in repeat, fast. They would fall through cockpit to god knows where and end up in the cockpit again and fall again over and over. I couldn’t enter the ship I had to fast travel to the cockpit. If I got up from the cockpit chair I would fall through the cockpit, through the map forever.

This is only useful if you find a ship thats more expensive than the lowest costing one to be replaced.

While that is a case where it’s useful, it’s not the only case or even the best case. Take a ship that is stripped down to the minimum it can have, and then build upon it with a bunch of fuel tanks for instance. As you go you may have to make some additions/adjustments so the ship can get through the flight check, but it shouldn’t be a problem. Anyway, with a bunch of fuel tanks on it now and the ship being a lot more expensive, dupe it, modify the duped ship, delete the fuel tanks to get credits back, but keep the barebones ship for the slot it holds. Dupe over it again with the expensive one and repeat the above.

Yeah it works great, but unfortunately will ideally require a good amount of credits to start as of course adding a bunch of fuel tanks for instance to your ship will cost credits. Once you have that base ship that you'll be duping to sell parts off of over and over again though, you're golden and can get tons of credits with ease.

@@DemonAsylum thanks for the tips. I stole a eclipse ship and stripped it down to bare minimum and can get like maybe 50k per strip now so I really do appreciate your information this is pre crash so for all I know its reset.

Good work and no problem at all. I have my current one getting me about 100k per strip. I can get it higher, but I'm not exactly hurting for credits so this is sufficient for me atm and to provide as an example for videos haha. I would recommend manual saving after every strip btw. I too have now had crashes and they seem random so better to play it safe.
