I noticed something a little odd in your note of critical damage. It sounds like you would, in the given example, role 1d8 + 3 + 1d6(burn). As I understand the rules for critical in this system, I would have expected the final outcome of 2d8 + 6 + 1d6(burn). Rolling damage twice with all bonuses and adding the critical effect. Am I mistaken?

you are correct the core rules say this "You roll your damage twice, each time with all your usual bonuses and including any additional damage from special abilities, and then add the rolls together"

So for melee attacks you add you str mod for damage but in ranged attack damage you do not add your dex mod?
@TheMapleTable4 жыл бұрын
not really, because no matter how agile or quick to act you are you cant make a bullet do more damage just by shooting it, no matter how gracefully you shot it. The game does have a mechanic called " Weapon Specialization" which makes up for the difference. letting you add your level to most ranged weapons, and half level for small arms.

Instead of doing thoes two trick shots wouldn't it just be better to just deal damage to the enemy
@TheMapleTable3 жыл бұрын
Maybe early on but those trick shorts for The operative really add up and you lose nothing by trying. Your trick attack fails you still do regular damage
