The options for Solarian made me REALLY happy when I picked up this book, because I play a Shirren that worships the sun, and uses the sun as his power. Gives me the chance to make a "BURN IT ALL DOWN" boi!

I really enjoy how You review these sourcebooks. I can really get a feel for what I want to spend the $ on after viewing these. You are one of the few zreview Channels for RPGs that is really objective and doesnt scream just buy this book like so many others.! I really enjoy StarFinder as well as the Darkness series of TTRPG as well. Thank You very much and keep them coming Please!

i love this... i will get this, but i kinda like the "low" magic of starfinder as it is :)

A lot of whats included here is optional. The class is neat, the items are cool. Of course the expanded spell list fills a huge missing gap (pardon the pun) for me. if you use low magic in your worlds consider at least letting your players use some of the spells in here if you allowed any caster types. There are many situational abilities and new consistent damage dealing spells here too.

Yes, I agree with what you say...and then there is the irony of the nanocye which is all technological only, but when played can be seen as having magical feats and abilities :-)

Think of magic in starfinder like Dr Strange in the high tech universe of the Avengers and Iron Man (as in Stark Foundation).

Saw this in my local book store, took it off the shelf and grabbed a seat for a quick read through before putting it back on the shelf as I'm not giving Paizo a damn cent anymore. Not bad, but I wouldn't go so far as to give it a 5 out of 5 but I'm not surprised that you did given how you've gushed and whinged about the state of magic in the game previously. The new alternate features for Nanocyte and Mechanic are kind of cool and can be rewritten for a nonmagical flair with some work. Mystic, Technomancer, and Witchwarper get the lion's share of the goodies which is fair as it's technically their book. The expanded info on the pantheon is interesting but useless to me because I refuse to touch the Pact Worlds setting. But that expanded spell list... my god...

I'm really curious if the Alt cantrip rules.. replace weapon spec? or are inclusive of them. For instance. Precog during the playtest I had a sniper precog. but wanted to use Energy ray or another damaging cantrip i forget the name of, for closer combat.

It cantrips have nothing to do with weapon specialisation though. Its a separate set of rules and feats

Thanks for the review. This book is not for me as I prefer a low magic, high tech setting. The information about the gods is however quite interesting and very unexpected. I am curious why the art is not as good as previous releases. Budget cuts in the art department perhaps? 🤔
