Just think. Had Rodney told them about changing the Replicators base code, those ancients would have still been about, and we would have had the best of both worlds, access to Atlantis and the ancients, and no cost😉 And I'm going to elaborate, because this detail seems to be missed. In progeny Niam gives Rodney access to their base code to remove the aggression programming. But Rodney also did something else. He froze all of the Replicators in place, and this time pause allowed the Replicators to alter their own code. This is why they attacked the humans again (after their aggression lines were changed back) and they removed the coding to not attack the ancients.

Yup, there's so many "what if" scenarios in the Stargate franchise that bugs the hell out of me. This is one of them, along with for example the fact that Earth never developed a Asgard Anti-Replicator satellite. That should have been Area 51's top priority after they learned that there was a city-planet filled with replicators and Ancient technology.

Real world complications (if you don’t know look it up) meant that’s what we ended up with. It does leave this moment being more poignant considering how she ends up. And, he ending does have add a kind of brutal reality to the series which made me enjoy it all the more.

@@rogelioregalado2032 According to the writers of SGA if we ever got future seasons they were going to introduce a lab that makes it. The lab could be accessed from Atlantis via a portal. The reason for not being built directly in the city is because the process to make it would be high risk. The lab would be destroyed but not before the team could make one new zpm. This lets them keep the Atlantis team as the underdog

This feels like O'Neill and Woolsey make a pretty compelling argument about their need for manpower and support. Only 100 Ancients, they'd have to set aside their pride, but there's no question that they really need help and that they have no clue what the current status of the Pegasus galaxy is. This was a massive miscalculation on the part of the Ancients.

The ancients were plagued by overconfidence, they always thought their superior technology would win because they were so much more advanced than everyone else. And to be fair most of the time they did but they just didn’t have the numbers to defeat the wraith after the ORI virus that drove them from the Milky Way in the first place

Ancients kept winning the engagements the tiny bit we seen of Wraith would been no issue for current 100 ancients, but my guess would be entire wraith civilization would probably wake up and overwhelm them like they did before. Ancients were done dirty in this show, they weren't evil or being assholes they didn't deserve their fate and not a single one of them even cared to mention them at the end

@@Josh-oj9mm the wraith war would have lasted 1000 years at maximum which means they could have easily met at any point since Asgard arrived in milky way or either species stumbling in others galaxy keep in mind both were keep in mind we are talking about species capable of traversing the galaxy and milky way Pegasus and milky way are actually pretty much next to each other when talking about inter galactic distances keep in mind Asgard started exploring outside galaxy like 20k years before wraith war they could have easily meet in that period

Never liked the whole idea of this episode. Ancients were leaving antlantis 10000 years ago because they were outnumbered in the war. The humans save them and offer them the numbers they need to have a fighting chance in the war and they just turn it down to continue in the city they were abandoning in an even worse state than when they were leaving? Then they all die....

The zpm room was basically a newer version of solar scoops. Nuclear class if not properly installed or even built. Take 12 volt vs 60 volt what’s the difference for both have 100 amp hour.

To think, if the Ancients had even shown an interest in the progression of Earth since discovering the Stargate, they'd have found a human race allied with the Asgard and other races, and at war with not only the Wraith, but the Ori as well. And given what we knew of the Ori/Ancient split, that should have been enough cause for them to want to help, since for once there was a mess that was chasing them that they couldn't run from/leave unresolved.

Regarding Dr Weir... Anyone with some ACTUAL diplomatic skills is more qualified to do the job (seriously; the writers should have had a retired diplomate on as a consultant for Dr Weir's character). If they have a repulsed response to commiting war crimes, then they're even more qualified! If things have degraded to the point where the only way to resolve the situation IS to commit those war crimes... Then you have the wrong people in place. Also, it doesn't help when you make the same mistakes repeatedly and expect a different outcome each time!

@@p0staldude000 Then that makes even less sense. The SGC would have sent out a salvage crew with Asgard Replication tech and repaired it, adding another ship to the USAF Armada. Barring that, stripping it for parts, weapons, drones and anything else of remote value would still be an option. Or better yet if it can't be repaired, use it as the Midway Station. Sounds like the writers just forgot it was out there until someone asked them about it.

Jack’s name tag is a half-inch too low and it bugs me. When they changed the USAF service uniform post-‘91 the blue plastic name tags went away along with the breast pockets. Two years after 9/11 and after much Joint Operations I guess the brass got tired of forgetting people’s names so we got these new metal tags. The first time I put mine on I had to use masking tape to help align with my ribbons; test wearing about five times in front of a mirror.

they could, but wheres the benefit. the only reason they stayed in the Pegasus was for Atlantis to study the ancient technology. setting up a base in another galaxy for the only reason being to engage with the wraith isnt beneficial to the tauri.

Woolsey should've explained the finer points of maritime law to the Ancients. Atlantis was an abandoned vessel in international waters when the expedition found it. According to international maritime law it is legitimate salvage and thus the property of the members of the expedition. The Ancients have no claim to it.

My mind may be too dark for this TV show, but considering the stakes involved (galaxy-conquering alien vampires), what was preventing the SGA crew from taking a hundred members of the most tactically inept human civilization to ever exist into custody at gunpoint for interrogation? They could be used as labor in hazardous activities, or bait when checking new areas. Goddamn I'd be facing trial for war crimes in no time if I were leading that expedition.

That is common thing for most "civilized people". You need to look after your own. And you can't be placing others above yours. If we look religions, there is a country starting with "I", that is doing it right now. Their mindset is that no one else is worth of anything. And can be killed or used as pleased. They happily do so, they use "lower races" and "non-believers" in such ways that you talk about. When someone say "America First!" it is that attitude exactly. Same way is when people are "oh the poor thing in that country, let's bring them here to home", that are placing value of someone else above others.
