I'm still very impressed by your memory of this show David! Thank you for keeping it alive with your channel!

For some of us, the info goes into the brain and it never lets go. The amount of stuff I can regurgitate out about shows I watched as a child that I haven't seen in years... Human brains are crazy. But I forget vital bits of what I do daily or weekly for work and have to look up the process in a document or pdf to refresh my memory. The things we love have a habit of holding onto our neurons tighter than the things we do because we have to.

It makes me wonder if they threw in the decision to destroy the Quantum Mirror at the very end of the session so that they didnt need to worry about it again going forward. It was an interesting plot device and I would've loved to see an expansion on the lore of it (IE who built it, where it originally came from etc), but judging by this interview, it was difficult to write for and make work in the long term. It may also explain why they decided to go with the multiverse travel through the Earth gate (the name of the episode escapes me) with all of the SG1 teams in the control room.

Seeing how the multiverse nonsense got really out of hand lately, I think it was for the better the mirror was smashed and forgotten, leaving any sort of parallel world travel to a fluke with the gate.

I wonder 'how' they destroyed it since it was made of naquadah.

@RoosterMontgomery It was in the episode but I can't remember what method they used

From what I understand this episode (Point of View) would have followed "Learning Curve" and makes some sense. The multi-SG teams sounds like you're describing "Ripple Effect," which I believe was S10

@@RoosterMontgomery If push came to shove and no other method worked, they could take it to another planet. Dial home first and then place the Mirror in front of the gate's kawoosh zone on that world. Then, once the team has returned to Earth and the gate closes, immediately re-dial that planet again from to destroy it utterly without causing a massive explosion in the gate room or Area 51 or wherever. They could do it on Earth as well, but doing it off-world via an outgoing wormhole reduces any chance of backlash or explosive destruction just in case.

I really like the episode except for Tapping's wig, ha! Though honestly I think the artifact is as interesting as the gate itself.

I'm still annoyed that we didn't get a proper payoff on the Jack and Sam relationship. At the very least I wish we got more of a confirmation of it in Atlantis. The cut scene from Trio would have worked perfectly as a payoff imo.

AI technology is developing very quickly, so that in a couple of years fans will be able to reveal their story and make new series of Star Gate

@ It didn't. Someone else did it cheaper, that does not mean that the AI bubble has burst.

this episode reminds me of Chrono Cross in many ways one world a person dies yet in another reality he or she lives and the consequences of being in the other world if the same person is alive could be good or bad or even meeting your self like Carter did was having a bad effect on her.

This was enjoyable. But, it was not original. For fans that did NOT watch the TOS, they might have seen some of this as kind of original. The notion another entity from another universe coming into our universe is not new by any stretch of the imagination. Since someone else's imagination had already been put on the screens long before this. Then you have the fact that they already did something similar with Daniel going over. Not a big leap to do this version. IMO.

There were very few unique sci fi ideas back when Star Trek first went on the air. If you dig enough through old sci fi books, I guarantee that most of their plots have already been done too. It's always the execution of an idea that makes it memorable. That is where originality shines through in a subject. Every idea has been done before and will be done again. We just need to focus on how our own experience makes our version unique.

Do you think AI is developing quickly enough, will we soon be able to see new series of star gates created by AI?
@joshportal28082 күн бұрын
In Switzerland there is a spinoff series called StarPort that is completely written by AI. It is a book series and they did attempt 5 different times to make a show out of it. The major problem is weirder than you may think. I currently own 3 of the current 20 books in English from a Canadian publisher. It is basically StarGate SG-1 in 100 years and one interesting idea that the whole series is based around. That one idea is preventing the show from being made. The hint I will give you is what is so special about the year 2077. The AI takes some ideas from Obsidian.

They did already. Brad and The Companion (I think during covid) worked with an AI company and had cast read out scripts this software spat out.

I'm waiting for them to A.I upscale the entire series to 4k since they won't do it manually with the original 16/35mm film.
