but then Amanda's character would be a general officer and generals don't go off world just like generals don't fly aircraft. But I think she would play a good role of a general that has to work planning mission objectives while battling bureaucrats for resources, dealing with unscheduled events, staff that have conflicts among themselves. Kind of like when Gen. O'Neill's first day as CO of SGC.

As a SG1 fan, at the time, I naturally watched Amanda throughout the wonderful webisodes and later as it evolved on TV. Helen Magnus was a powerful character. I can certainly see why Amanda would want to reprise Helen, as well as, of course Sam. It's wonderful, as always, to see the beautiful Amanda Tapping. Thank you for this!

I agree 100%! After Sam brokeup with Pete, Agent Barret tries to get her to go out with him. She turns him down, saying something to the effect of being involved with someone else (being that she had JUST broken up with Pete, it could, of course, only be Jack.). Plus, in universe, it's made pretty clear that Jack retired SPECIFICALLY so that he could be with Sam. I didn't notice these subtleties until I watched the series for the second time. I loved it that they downplayed it. In my mind, Jack and Sam are still together, enjoying their grandchildren now!

I think part of what made Stargate SG-1 so good is that Amanda is amazingly good looking AND she played the smartest member of the team. Richard plays the typical dumb blonde on the series. A VERY nice change. PLUS in real life it is nice to see a female that is both good looking, smart and accomplished and not playing down this.

I believe that Stargate SG-1 series, every episode, in sum was like a modern day Aesops Fables, with the most important moral lessons conveyed and taught by the show. I also believe that parents should have their children, starting at 9 years of age, watch every episode at regular intervals, maybe 1 or 2 times a week, or more, so that they are inculcated with the moral messages and story to learn for life.

I always thought it was not only the way characters were drawn by Brad and the team, It was something intrinsically preexisting in each and everyone of the SG1 team, i.e the sense of friendship, sense of humour, creativity...As well as the wisdom of the directors that let them "adjust" their script...Great to see Amanda again! And, by the way, Bouvier Bernois is one of my favorites...

I still miss SG1 and Atlantis. Out of all the series that have been cancelled over the years, nothing has come close to the impact SG1 and Atlantis had on me and how upset I was. The kick in the teeth was the Atlantis TV movie not happening. The ending of Atlantis was not bad and ok for a cancellation but could have been a bit better.

I don't think Infinity is canon, I saw the odd episode & it was nowt like the rest of the franchise. It was strange to see her playing a villain in Supernatural, but I think she always had the capability. She was quite sinister as Replicator Sam. Not heard of some of her other projects.
