This is another episode that showcases the writing and performances on SG1. Some important information in this episode but it was so much fun too. It achieved both elements very successfully... plus Teryl Rothery is in it.

This is probably my favourite SG1 episode. Everyone is on top form and the new exposition is great. Where you think back and can't realise how they fit all that stuff into 45 mins.

Watching your face was a joy. My reaction too. I LOVED this episode. What was REALLY neat was that the one guy, who was always telling Carter to leave out the explanations and get to the point, was the one who was doing all this whiz-bang tech. :)

Although it got edited out, I think I remember when the as yet never used eighth chevron locked, Daniel says "I think where dialing another area code".

It's occurred to me that the 90s were the only time the Stargate concept could've been made - when we had good enough effects that the gate opening sequence in the film is so awe-inspiring, but also everyone was still familiar with the concept of rotary phones and it seemed logical that an alien device would be designed that way. It must seem really random to younger people now.
