For context this entire scene was a fourth-wall breaking section. I think it came after the end of the actual SG1 episode. Clearly some of it is staged for fun, but I'm not convinced the conversation we get clips of wasn't entirely ad-libbed. Actual behind the scenes stuff.

There's a document released from AATIP and stargates are actually among the things listed that AATIP was involved in. A few others are warp drive, traversing wormholes, cloaking, and a bunch of other stuff. But it's attached to the document at the end. The main piece talks about threats from China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran.

Sam is the only one who likes her character. Also I like how Lloyd remembers Teal'c as a robot who never speaks. In all seriousness though, Wormhole X-Treme shows how much in common SG-1 has with Star Trek. TOS was just as campy, and both SG-1 and Trek have the same regular episode format.

'We're going to get an Emmy for this! Visual effects category' SG-1 was nominated for 9 emmies in its run, 8 were in the VFX category. 😂 They never won though. When this aired they'd been nominated for 4, 2 of which had been episode in the season prior to this, season 4. They would be nominated for two season 5 episodes too but not this one sadly.
