Actually this whole episode is a parody of a parody. There was a Star Trek: Voyager episode (7x19) where The Doctor (Woolsey) created a holographic novel called Vortex that was a parody of Voyager that was broadcasted to Earth. That episode aired in April of 2001 where as Wormhole X- Treme aired in September, 2001 so 1, that's Star Trek, and 2 that's ridiculous.

This still makes me crack up. Every time. Brilliant writing by the staff of Stargate SG-1. It pays to be able to laugh at yourself. Daniel and Teal'c did not like the portrayals of their X-Treme counterparts, obviously. Ha. Carter, always the good sport, apparently thought it was hilarious.
