To bwhaskell, I crashed and it resulted in a spinal cord injury. I was 44 years old, a dentist with a thriving business and 3 little girls. I love motocross and you can get hurt anywhere. Watching you brings me happiness. You are a great talent on camera and track. I will share the gfm everywhere. Please keep making videos and comparisons with Ebikes vs combustion 2 and 4 stroke. If you are ever riding Arizona, please announce it. If you announce where you race many of us want to watch in RL. Maybe a paid subscriber channel for that? I'd pay.

@@bwhaskell A dictatorship called the EPA forced the 4-stroke on the industry. With more power, it pushed the 2-strokes off the starting line. This looks to be the same direction. with 20-25 pro riders hurt at any time now, (and increased deaths), do you expect that injury/death rate to go down? Dictatorships don't care. I do.

Here is your comparison: 2-strokes, rarely a death Faster 4-strokes, many more injuries and deaths. 80Hp E-bike. What do you think will happen? We are not smart enough to tell the EPA to stay out of our industry.

So sorry that rider passed away, RIP. 25 years ago I was at our local track that often had lots of amateurs. They had a good size double with a big gulley in between so you couldn't see guys in there. Most people would roll the double, some would clear it, some would crash and end up in the gulley. A kid fell over in the gulley and a guy rolling it ran into him, then another guy ran into them. While one kid was leaning down to pick up his bike with his face aligned to the end of his handlebars, someone landed on him, it was horribly imperfect timing. He didn't move at all, then started having convulsions, then the helicopter came in and that was it for the day. That whole place was silent, it was the worst thing I had ever seen happen in front of me. They removed that double before they reopened the track, it wasn't a safe double for the type of people that raced there. I will say this, many of these tracks let children volunteer to flag the race and they do not do the job well, this kid lost his life due to no flagger being at that double and aggressively slowly down the other riders...

"Airlifted Out" is why I switched from mx to enduro at 40. Falling over from hitting a rock in 2nd gear doesn't cause nearly the damage falling from the sky off a jump in 4th gear does. Love the Stark video tho. When they first hit the media I loved the entire idea other than I need it to run for 4 hours on a charge.

The excessive injuries, deaths and fast tracks are because the EPA forced the 4-stoke on the industry, and this thing (subsidized by government), can pump out 80hp. Maybe we should figure out why the sport has become so dangerous. You have not figure it out yet when you posted.

When you race it's just a matter of time before you get injured...you just hope it doesn't put you in a wheelchair. I knew guy who races mx with me and he also raced enduro after he left moto. He was hit by a train and lost his life during the enduro race. Promotors were sued and it was a sad sad tragedy. I've suffered a broken collar bone, ankle, pelvis and compression fractures to my L2, 3 and 4 but recovered well enough. It's a dangerous sport and I just try to never think about it when I race. @@roddas26 I don't know how I'd rephrase your valid question to be gentler. I've seen these occurrences over many years in the sport, and one can't cast blame without knowing exactly what led up to it, as it could be either side's fault, or both, or neither. To me, it's always foremost a tragedy. Way down the line after that is blame and such. But again, you very well could be 100% right in the question you posed, and it'd be a good one to consider.

I'm not a huge fan of MX because of this... Me and my friends/Team are more in to hard enduro and extreme enduro stuff. Me and a great friend tested his two Stark Varg bikes a few days ago on our weekly rides. The bikes handles everything really well although we have to learn a bit more about the clickers. It felt too stiff but probably because they're brand new. I felt the need for a clutch pop a few times but it might be a question o getting used to it. The power is awesome and jaw dropping.... Did not go above more 2 or 3 unless it was open trails. Concerning dry river beds, loose rocks and rutted stuff, no problem. Something I was thrilled about was actually how easily it pivot turns. Sadly, my gopro sound played funny on me... Image is ok, though. Will try to edit something. Hope this fellow rider is going to be ok! All the best to him and his family!

But I've wondered about the electric dirt bikes and watching you ride they seem pretty good. But that was impressive. Not that I want one. Because I got a 4 stroke 250 and it is completely different from a 2 stroke to ride, so now I have both. Unfortunately with the inflation I haven't had the money to ride the 2 stroke. Besides I'm 67 and it's a little late to change now. But good ride.

RC recently said "The bikes got too fast", (and was probably told to never say it again). "We will get exactly what we deserve, and it all depends on how we think" (Ayn Rand). How much are we going to take? Every time government tells us what to make and buy, the industry gains dysfunction. But, what ever you guys think. The sport may even be banned by the government in the future because of excessive injuries and deaths, gone like the 3-wheeler, (which was safer IMO). But, what ever you guys think. RIP to the man.

Really enjoying your content!! It's terrible that young kid lost his life. I not 100% sold on ebikes yet. I think they are sweet (and I will get one) but still not as tits as a 450. It's also too much fun roasting ebike guys. Comments like "ooo that guy riding an ebike has a gapping hole where his nuts used to be" are hilarious. Watching that 450 and hearing it bark as it blew by you was epic! I'm only kidding... I'm just trolling the comments (instigating a bit) but I do have a serious question. Do you think with the advantages that come from the advancements (no shifting, more power, instant torque, ect...) of an ebike could @chasesexton1193 beat the golden (or doughnut) boy @jettson18 if Chase was on a factory Varg? I looked at the numbers on the 450 moto 2 from Southwick 2023. Chase and Jett both did 17 laps. Chase had an average lap time of roughly 2:12 and Jett had an average lap time of 2:11. So Jett was a second faster per lap on average. If we look at it percentage wise Jett is less than 1% better than Chase PER LAP. This begs the question. In your opinion if Chase hopped on a factory Varg with all the advantages of an ebike would he be 1% faster/better per lap? Ultimately giving him the chance to beat Jett? Now if you compound that 1% over the totality of the race then Jett is about 15% better than Chase. If you are 15% better than anybody at anything that is a staggering amount. Thus the reason Jett is Golden ( or Generational talent) You should do a colab with @jeffwalker84 . Let him ride the Varg and give his comments compared to a 450 on your channel. That video would do numbers! Good luck with with channel and hopefully you are feeling better at the next race.
