What speed do you find best for each product? Great content by the way!

I love your videos. Thanks for the content. I have a regal I purchased new last year. I did a one step polish (marine 31) last year with a generic makita wool pad on rotary. Then followed up with a ceramic coating (adams). I got ok results, nothing spectacular. I’m planning to redo everything this month and I want to redo everything. There’s no oxidation. The boat is white top/bottom, navy sides. I gave a few fender/dock scuffs to work out. I played around with an orange LC pad and DA on a test spot with marine 31 one step. Got most everything out but a little of the scuffs are persistent. I’m purchasing a flex xce because I don’t like running the rotary and I don’t have any oxidation. I’m thinking of running foamed wool with elevate, then orange LC with ignition, and finishing up with triple p and doing a more marine focused ceramic. Does this sound like a good plan or do you suggest different? Also, what pad would you run for the triple p?

That sounds fantastic, very professional. I just run a white rupes finishing pad with triple p. Make sure to go with Repel Pro, the best one

I’m using level R with a Makita rotary and white LC pad. Gelcoat is in good shape just faded. I seem to get a nice gloss however when looking from the side I see hazy patches. I’m not sure if the product is drying too fast or I’m not using enough product to keep wetter. Machine is running around 1000 rpm and I’m moving the machine very slowly. Your videos are great especially with Starke products and your discount!

It’s possible you need to work the product longer or add more product. But perhaps there is further oxidation in the gelcoat that requires much more buffing or even sanding

Can I start with Elevate and wool on a lil-no oxidized boat? Then apply ceramic?
@topdockpro2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you could start with Elevate and a yellow synthetic wool. But you still need to finish with a foam pad before you apply the ceramic

Great video, thanks for the info! I have a 2018 Robalo with a shark gray hull and black bottom that has been maintained over the years but it is starting to get some very light oxidation. I have a rotary and a Griot's DA RO and I got some Elevate and a purple lake country pad and I also have a white LC wool pad and yellow LC wool pad and a foam pad for my Griots. What machine/pad progression would you suggest? I have Jescar sealer for the final step. If I use the rotary with the purple LC pad with Elevate will that leave holograms or swirls?
@topdockpro Жыл бұрын
I would run Elevate on the yellow LC wool and then follow up with Elevate on the purple LC or foam pad. No, it won’t leave holograms only the white and yellow wool will

Would yellow wool with ignition be to aggressive to start with on a new boat or should I get the purple foam wool? Bought a demo and it has a lot of swirls and minor scratches

Foamed wool would be a more versatile option!

Hi I’m just learning about starke products I have a 1993 Bayliner in decent shape for its age so I used a product called smoove I have a dewalt rotary and a wool pad I used there p-100 with a wool pad and then there polymer white cloud with a yellow wool pad. So not sure if you’re familiar with that Product smoove but I kinda like the way the stark product looks like it works it might be a little easier I have some swirl marks in my boat not very good at using the rotary I’m just kind of learning this will be my third season and I kind of like the way that product works and the way you explain it so I was just wondering if I did I have a rotary machine it’s a porter cable dual action machine that I kinda use for my car my paint in my car I don’t know if I can use that with the foam pad for elevate after I do the level R on my boat then use elevate with my rotary or d/a porta cable machine what way should I go and what pads to use Thank you
@topdockpro2 жыл бұрын
I typically don’t like to run elevate on a D/A polisher, the grits don’t break down which affects the shine. Run your Dewalt rotary with a waffle foam & Elevate. Otherwise you’d need to buy a Flex or Millie.

Should I use ignition on yellow gelcoat? Or you think it would be enough to use Level R and elevate?

Is the gel coat oxidized?
@mikeyvelez93142 жыл бұрын
@@topdockpro it is. But nothing severe. But is does need a little bit of wet sanding
@topdockpro2 жыл бұрын
@@mikeyvelez9314 Okay great. Then you want to run level r and wool on a rotary. Next elevate and yellow synthetic wool on a rotary. And then elevate again on a lake county orange/gray foam pad with an FA polisher if you have one or do the rotary and waffle foam

Could I use Triple P instead of ignition when finishing out dark gelcoat? What are your thoughts?
@topdockpro2 жыл бұрын
They are not interchangeable. Two completely different products. Ignition is a polish (will cut out scratches). Triple P is the first step in protecting your boat (contains silicas). Think of Triple P as a wax.
