The 720s are REALLY fast accelerating for 10car trains (although not the fastest, thats held by 331s) Stratford is a little odd as an interchange since it has passing trains as well. Thanks Ben 😃

Stratford should be renamed as Stratford Interchange as it’s got good interchange with the London Underground, London Overground, Docklands Light Railway, TfL Rail (Elizabeth Line) and buses. And walking distance to Westfield shopping centre, Queen Elizabeth II Park and of course Stratford International railway station. Plus Greater Anglia’s Class 720s are now becoming more popular as they are replacing the Class 317 and Class 321. And I’ve noticed new overhead wires as well that are lot better than the older ones.

Stratford is a major multi-level interchange station serving the district of Stratford and the mixed-use development known as Stratford City, in the London Borough of Newham, east London. It is served by the London Underground, London Overground, Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and is also a National Rail station on the West Anglia Main Line and the Great Eastern Main Line, 4 miles 3 chains (6.5 km) from Liverpool Street. It is the busiest station on the Tube network that is not located in Travelcard Zone 1. It is located in Zones 2/3 and is the UK’s most used station in 2020/21. On the Underground, it is a through-station on the Central line between Mile End and Leyton, and it is the eastern terminus of the Jubilee line following West Ham. On the DLR it is a terminus for some trains and for others it is a through-station between Stratford High Street and Stratford International. On the Overground it is the terminus of the North London Line following Hackney Wick; on the mainline it is served by TfL Rail stopping "metro" services between Liverpool Street and Shenfield and by medium- and longer-distance services operated by Greater Anglia to and from numerous destinations in the East of England. There are also limited off-peak services operated by c2c connecting to the London, Tilbury and Southend line to Shoeburyness. What an incredible junction station this is by the looks of it. It is a shame that the 321 and 322 units are on 'borrowed time' before they end up in train heaven. Nice capture as well of the C2C diverts as well.

Certainly is! On weekdays you even get a fair amount of container traffic as well. Highly recommend visiting if your in the area. For London, it’s also one of the more relaxed major stations for trainspotters too.

The irony is that at the time of filming, I assumed that the 317s would go first so I was slighly frustrated by them both being 379s. As it turns out, it was the best result 😃 Weekends are always a bit of a gamble for freight.

Stratford station was the busiest railway station in 2020 - 2021, with entries/exits of 13.985 million passengers. St Pancras came in at number 13, with entries/exits of 6.363 million passengers. This is 100% less than Stratford, and Eurostar still snub Stratford as a recognised international station. I've haven't even started with the busiest tube stations rankings...

Either North End of Platform 10, 10A or South End of platform 9. There isn’t really an ideal place to catch everything so you’ll end up running around if you do! Hope this helps 😃

Guaranteed killer before I watch it Edit: i know this video was filmed last year, but maybe filming them further along the line might be an idea. Did some spotting at Maryland and the 720s and especially the 745s are really starting to wind it up by then, but the views for filming are not the best because of the fencing blocking platforms 3 and 4.

Sorry guys, I’ve been watching your conversation 😉. I’m a fan of the 321s but it depends what your comparing; the 720s are sooo much better in terms of accessibility and features but are worse in some areas such as motor sounds and livery variety. The 357s are nearly 20 years old as well!
