Throughout the last 96 years, Britain's railways have undergone some substantial changes with Nationalisation occurring in 1948 and Privatisation again in 1997.
This video shows the extent of change which took place throughout the last 100 years.

The _second_ we hit 1994, everything starts getting confusing, and I just realized this is all on the passenger side of things, freight services weren't touched after Sectors started. That said this the clearest method I've seen in explaining this mess It's sorta like a reverse of what was happening in the US during the 70's with so many Class I Railroads merging into each other, and small sections splitting to form individual Regional or Shortline Railroads

It doesn't get confusing it's just that it iis LOL! But personally this is the easiest way to see the franchise I love this.

I feel you could have slowed this down a little, it was difficult to keep up. Had to pause and go back several times as so much was happening at once.

Hi Still_Guns, I will accept that criticism. This isn’t one of my stronger videos and I wish I had slowed it down to a more reasonable speed. I may create another one in the future but for now, it doesn’t look like franchises will be a thing of the future.

The franchise is still called South Central even though the brand was changed to Southern. I hope this clears it up a bit more

I plan to once they start running them consistently with the 507/508s. I would imagine they will be withdrawn in May next year.
