This is off subject really,but I was thinking about this due to this book taking me back to the beginning when Lolth went by her True Born name of Arunshee when she was still wed to Corellion; all before she betrayed him,aided and abetted by Gruumsh among others and was defeated and cast down to the demon pits. Anyhow, I don't think there's any actual book that ever chronicled Mystras(Midnight of Deepingdale) assassination by Cyric with the help of Shar, which is the entire reason the Spellplague happened. So much happened after that too. Every one of the greatest heroes and villains of the realms were damaged, some beyond repair and after the sundering, more than one God was destroyed outright, especially the lesser powers who either didn't have the foresight or were to covetous of their portfolios and powers to invest in chosen. Remember how Mask owed a debit of his life and essence to his mother Shar? He left enough of himself in Erevis Cale of Chondath to pass on to who his son who became a Half-Shade Paladin and Chosen Lathander the morning lord( Aroumthor as the Netherese called him?) And Dresek Riven of became the next Mask. I know that for his murder of Mystra, Using Masks avatar Godsbane , which he later destroyed by breaking over his knee once he figured out he was being manupulated,Cyric was Exiled, bound to his Supreme Throne in chains forged by Gond The Wonderbringer in Pandemonium,which used to belong to Finder Wyvrenspur the formerly unnamed bard and former lesser power. But the act of the murder it's self was never documented in a book as far as I know other than a mention in Dragon Magazine, I forget the issue number(someone stole mine) You'd think it would have been sanctioned since Cyric once held the portfolios of Murder after the death of Baal,Illusion after he murdered Liira, Strife from Bane,Death from Mykul and Lies from someone who's name now eludes me. He went mad from reading his own version Mien Komph too. Mystras death was seen as deicide and that was that. I haven't read anything that's stated he's been freed or anything. I only know that Mystra has returned when I read Elminster trilogy back in 2012 or 2013. So much time has passed realm time that a lot of the old heroes are passed on. It's crazy really because after the sundering and all, many of the authors really had to scramble and compete to figure out ways to keep alive the ones that they could get away with,which although I hated to see so many go, I feel like they messed up the legacies of so many when they did it. The Spellplague and sundering caused such a ripple effect it even spilled over into World of Warcraft..That was also the time I quit playing it and D&D. Rule 3.0 is trash and so was Wow ever after imo. Okay I've rambled enough but if anyone reads this I'd like their opinions or updates on Cyric after her killed Mystra. I wonder if Mask is going to come back by taking over a body the way Bane did.

Anyone who read all of that, thank you. I have Asperger's Syndrome and what you guys witnessed was a brief look into how SOME of the inner dialogue runs,which is 24/7. It's like having a multi track mixer that has God only knows how many tracks going at once lol. Listening to Daughter of the Drow instantly took me back to 1997 when I first read the series over a 2 week period which in turn I start spewing all of this Lore by proxy. All because I heard the name of a Drow Archmage who's actually renegade like Drizzt and his father before him that's been cursed by Lolth so that he's still humanoid in shape but has spiders appendages where his face should have been and his name sounds a lot like Mystra. And that's what had me going lol. And again I'm babbling. One more thing, does anyone remember the situation where Manshoon of Zhentil Keep had created all of these clones of himself and they somehow escaped into the world not knowing who they were since he hadn't taken them over? There's a human female warrior who had a similar thing happen to her in the Azure Bonds story. I'd love to read that one again too

This was my first realms book/series. Such a good time. Always wished for a update for her more than the Sword Coaat Adventuer's Guide gave her. She still trumps Drizzt in my opinion. Not in battle just in character development.

Liriel is a fully believable drow. Given origin, genetics and conditioning. Drizzt fails to be a believable character.

Dara Rosenberg is great as Liriel, but unfortunately a somewhat subpar narrator... She seems to be constantly arching an eyebrow and commenting even on exciting fight scenes with a somewhat detached irony. Very fitting for the protagonist, less so for the rest. Maybe she just got too Stanislavsky about it. :)
