I think that Luke 's first years as a Jedi, after the death of the emperor, offer a great background for writing a SW novel . The whole situation was very fragile, the empire had fragmented into several parts, Luke started searching for new Jedi candidates, whereas his powers were rapidly increasing ... Honestly, Luke should technically be able to implode a planet I'm just thinking about it! Damn, why doesn't anybody with a little knowledge ever write him, and do so with some damned respect!?

Because the books are highly inconsistent with Luke's abilities. Barely able to move anything bigger than a person in the Thrawn Trilogy, to hovering down from the atmosphere in the Courtship of Princess Leia, to disguising himself fully with the Force in The Crystal Star, to not being able to fight off a droideka in Survivor's Quest (even I disagree with that take). And then moving a black hole with his brain in a later NJO book--don't care which one at this point. When the books and also video games are this inconsistent, it's best to just go back to the creator, and Lucas has specifically criticized this overpowered version of Luke and the Jedi--he used the example of Starkiller pulling down a Star Destroyer with his mind. Lucas flat-out said that's not how the Jedi or the Force work. So I guess Lucas himself doesn't have any knowledge of Luke and doesn't respect him?

Damn! Why do they keep riding Luke like this!? It drives me crazy that starkiller can so easily Yank a Star destroyer write down out of the sky, but Luke budge is a couple of troop carriers and collapses!? He's supposed to have the same potential as Anakin, the chosen one, more Force potential than anyone ever! What the shit are people thinking!???

Did you read the TFU novels? He was much less OP in them than in the games and didn’t actually do that in the in novel, it was only to have cool gameplay and not representative of him as a whole.

None of the Jedi, including Anakin, were ever supposed to be that powerful. George Lucas himself has commented that Jedi are not gods and specifically commented about Starkiller "yanking down a Star Destroyer" not being something a Jedi would ever be capable of. In the EU books, Luke eventually developed some Superman-like abilities, but again, this went against Lucas and also authors like Timothy Zahn, who had a minimalist approach. Honestly, power-fantasy moments like that are ways writers manipulate their readers/viewers into thinking the character did something amazing, but in all truth, it's a way to get out of writing the characters as intelligent and capable with limits to their abilities. So it's the video game that has this wrong.

@@rienjen I don’t recall Luke ever having superhuman like abilities. He was unable to beat Abeloth or various other evil entities.

@@AdmiralMakati I always believed that Luke was the most powerful Jedi in the New Order. But the Jedi are not gods--they can't move moons with their brains or push Star Destroyers out of the sky. If you make a character that invincible, then there are no challenges for them and they become unrelatable. You remove the human factor. And that makes it BORING.

In my own headcannon I considered it a dark side thing. Luke could not exercise such power without creating consequences on innocent bystanders. Yoda certainly was powerful but did not wish to simply replace Vader. Or Palpatine. His only choice was to live to fight another day, another way.
