Good stuff! We ordered a 2022 Ram 5500 from the factory. 19,500 GVW. It took 4 months to get it but it was 15K cheaper than the lot model, so you’re thinking is spot on. The savings paid for the bed which about 11K. Make sure you find an insurance company that will cover it as a non commercial vehicle. We use Nationwide. We have a CM SK bed and haul a Lance 1172 and tow a boat. We really like the rig, getting some Stable Camper side boxes painted now. Good luck guys and best wishes, cheers

That’s a great setup! You’ve got me drooling! I’ve been with State Farm for a while and I’d like to shop around again to see what’s out there. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thx for the Starlink update. I’m still debating for various reasons. Working on some other projects before we leave too. Can’t wait to see the next video with the flat bed. Good stuff.

I’m psyched to put the camper on tomorrow. We leave Sunday, so I have tomorrow to figure it all out! What kind of projects are you working on?

@@Stonyboot Some on the condo. Some for the association I am Treasurer for. Since I am not running again, I have some things to get them ready for 2923, prep for the Annual Board meeting, and transition stuff. For the TC, I think I am gonna reuse the OEM solar charge controller I took out and build a solar suitcase to augment the ones on the roof. Also some other small repairs before leaving. Then wash and wax the TC and truck. How long did it take for your Starlink to be delivered after ordering?

Good to hear your upgrading your hitch. That kind of flex would make me very nervous. Love the flat bed idea, good luck!

move the chains higher, think 3 point hitch style and grease that ball
@Stonyboot Жыл бұрын
We made it 2500 miles without a problem. Changed the chain setup, but didn’t record it. I have a whole new hitch going on soon, video will be out in a bit. Should solve everything! As for grease, never grease an Andersen WD hitch, it will prevent the sway control. I would probably do a video on how that hitch works, it’s quite different from other brands, but I love it!

Been running a super hitch and 36" supertruss for about 8 years now and its an awesome setup, moves the trailer ball right to the end of my camper overhang. I haven't had the need to do WD on the supertruss but I have noticed if you don't use a wrench on the jam nuts they will back off and loosen your turnbuckle. I got lazy and didn't use a wrench and ended up with super loose lateral stabilizer chains but my trailer was only 500lbs total. I hear ya, I am halfway wanting to move to a F550 but that's gonna wait quite a while for the market to calm down.

New to the channel, thanks for a great couple videos that I've seen so far! I had a question about the garden hose attached to a sewer drain hose underneath the trailer. Can you tell me what you got going on there? 😁 I just bought my first RV two months ago so in still on Discovery Mode of what cool things I get to do to it 😄

had an extension for my 6 x 12 trailer a thousand miles of Wyoming undulating roads bent my frame even with those chains that hitch and are not in compliance
@Stonyboot Жыл бұрын
It’s a work in progress. Parts delays meant that I couldn’t get what I wanted from day one. Also, since we vlog about this stuff, the point is to make videos about the incremental process of leaving about it. This hitch setup is not done and I have a final goal in mind. But it’s working for now.
@terrylarkin6902 жыл бұрын
Scott maybe a small reel for all the extra wire. I'm assuming you can't shorten it.
@Stonyboot2 жыл бұрын
Correct, it can’t be shortened. I’ll come up with something like that once I figure out how to mount it. I’ll mount it, but it still needs to be portable.

MBPS = Megabytes per second versus Mbps = Megabits per second. For each Megabyte = 8 bits. Star link IMHO is a big disappointment using Kx bands, would be nice to use C-Band....:)
@Stonyboot2 жыл бұрын
The title that displayed the numbers was in All caps which I overlooked. So correct, Mbps. I wish it was MBps! It will improve with time, but it’s still the best option I have. Aside from a couple places being slow and a few trees blocking signal, it’s been great. It’s not a replacement for gig fiber though.
@n6cid2 жыл бұрын
@@Stonyboot Once you've had C-band it's just a disappointment using any of the "K" bands or as network engineers call the CB band for satellite work. If you like what you have then that's all that matters...:)

It’s not so much about happy or not, it just solves the problem. It’s the best internet I’ve had in 3 years, and considering we work online, it’s been a real improvement. I’m waiting for new competition to come out, but Starlink and SpaceX have a commanding lead for now. It works, but has some definite deficiencies.

Why are u guys pulling the trailer? Adds more weight and payload. More strain on your transmission

I'm contemplating getting a new truck as well. I love my current truck, which I've had since 2009 but it doesn't have a high enough GVWR for my current truck camper.

In regards to the Starlink mount. The KZbin channel “ keep your daydream “ published an episode a few months ago and they featured an interesting mount that was 3D printed. I believe it mounted to an extension pole as you have done in the past. Glad you two are doing so well. Over

If your still looking for a truck, check out the international's in that weight range. I was impressed with them other than the power is a duramax.
@terrylarkin6902 жыл бұрын
Don't buy a truck now worst time ever. But I can't wait to see a flat bed. It would really be cool if Cirrus would come up with a non pickup bed camper so you can have more floor space. I even think yours could be modified for a flatbed eliminating the waisted corner areas of a pickup bed. So what do you think?
