@@EtoDemerzel it's a role to play and for immersion purposes would be odd if I wasn't doing anything. I get it why there's some who wouldn't want to, but it's just a game and the option to skip past is there for those that want it.

"Remember- no Russian!" Oh I do remember the first time my friend showed me this level - he got the game before I did and he had a new VGA, and invited me over. I heard the zipper on the bags, the guns being cocked, but everything was still black and I was like "What? The game froze?" and he was like "Just watch." And then the infamous airport scene opens up. Beautiful gameplay! :)

One of the best things about the remastered version is the inclusion of Yuri at the beginning of the level. Really like continuity bits like that

Yeah. Wish this OG version could have also patched him in too, not unlike how Resident Evil 2 Remake added Nemesis saying "S.T.A.R.S...." in the background of one level as a tease to the otherwise average RE3 "Remake".

I'd say it was pushing the boundaries of what should/n't be censored. It can easily be seen as tasteless and edgy while vice versa an attempt to provoke deeper emotional responses and tell a more nuanced story.

I've heard of this mission over the years, but I never did get around to watching it. The infamous "No Russian" mission has lived up to the controversy, and for the right reasons, not because someone was misgendered or because a person got pronouns wrong. I very much doubt you'd see anything like this in the current climate of gaming, for fear of the labels / opinions or being cancelled.

O dear lord, this mission!😰 This stirred up a lot of controversy. They'd even gave U the option 2 skip this mission, but then again we wouldn't know the fate of Allen. U can actually kill the 3 bodyguards but Makarov. He'll say hold your fire if U try shooting him. 1:40 Must B Barnes & Noble in Russian. Is Makarov played by the same guy who did McMillan? Allen is another playable character that actually dies in this series. The other being Jackson.🥺

Granted, I've seen worse excesses, like Manhunt. Eh, never skipped it. It's not filler, after all. Same with that MW3 2011 mission where the SAS failed. Two, more like, and only when outside. Kiril and Lev. It also has Hamlet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Winter Tale, and The Sign of Four. Wonder why? Don't think so... A far cry from the early WW2 games. Won't be the last for this trilogy, and even the Black Ops original trilogy will continue the tradition somewhat.
