Regardless of how you feel about this policy my question is whats the point in even having a vote if you will be suspended/punished for disagreeing. Another sign that the UK Democratic system is a joke. Absolutely shocking.

@@paranoidballoon8190 Party MPs are OBLIGED to vote with the government because parliament cannot act without being confident of a majority votes of the house. The party whip is in place to ensure the government can secure the majority in spite of the opposition and maintain discipline and confidence in the leadership. This is the way democracy functions; what's the objection?

The MP’s stood on the Labour manifesto and the vote to scrap the cap was against the manifesto they were elected on. So yes they should be suspended from the Labour Party.

What about the fact there were a lot of abstentions as well. Yes seven rebelled fully but a lot of others abstained which means his actions were not acceptable to a lot of MPs. Does he even talk to his MPs or know what a good MP does? I don't think he ever talks to his own constituents. He should do. He was elected first as an MP. They should come first.

Before the change, we had a local family who had 8 children, both parents were not working and Council also provided them with a brand new double semi-detached with knock through house, all supplied by council along with child benefits x8!! Completely unfair to everyone else. Not sure if 2 child cap is right tho... but there certainly does need to be a cap of some sort. Maybe 3/4 would be acceptable. But if you choose to have more than 4 kids... then that's a life choice and everyone else shouldn't have to fund that.
@pkk6393 ай бұрын
Are you insane? If you can't afford to support a child, don't have them. I get sometimes circumstances sometimes dictate these situations but they are few and far between. I thought the 2 children cap was more than generous. Having 4 children that you can't afford and expecting us, the tax payer to support not only the children but also the parent(s) is insanely wrong!!!

Societal problems arise when political dictators start dabbling with law of nature. We have an example of disastrous Chinese one child policy. Law of nature is designed as means follow the need and not the other way round. NHS was created right after the war when we had no means to sustain it but, need was created so people got thier heads together, economy improved and Britain became envy of the world. Then Tories austerity programme was imposed and we all know were we stand economically. When we spend for the benefit of our nationals and humanity we prosper, when we spend billions on unnecessary wars around the World for our egoism and supremacy we as a nation go into decline as the money spent on Wars lines pocket of arms Manufacturing corporations, lobbies, Bankers and corupt politicians. Money spent on alleviating poverty goes back into national economy and stays in Country creating more jobs too. The choice is clear for everyone to see, but for the centre to right Tories guised as Labour party.
