I actually tried one of the brass ones at my local music store. It looked killer. It sounded great with the first hit. Not choked, not to sloppy, it was perfect. Then I did a rimshot. It blew my mind, and almost my eardrums. The drum was very sensitive but not overly. The snares on it were great too. Definitely gonna get me one eventually.

Drum's like these show that multi ply drums can sound every bit as good as more expensive single plys and stave etc

Man those are some nice snare drums, by who esle the best drum makers in the world TAMA. I like the bubinga shell best. But all four models look and sound amazing. Tama are and will always will be the no1 in drums. No question.

Gosh, Ron Bruner is hysterical xD Can't stop laughing over his comment... you got' take some lugs off, you got' take some lugs off! Pause right at 0:48 an look at his face! And, yeah, those snare sure sound amazing! Bubinga or Aluminum for me.

Next item to buy: Starphonic Brass. Never before have I heard a metal snare drum that I liked, much less one that blew my mind, even less one that inspired me to immediately start saving up for one....until now.

Bubinga to me sounds too low for rock or metal drumming. Jazz would sounds awesome with bubinga. I prefer maple for the snare, but bubinga would sounds so good as toms and bass drums!
