How to Trim Natural Hair: EASY Step-by-Step Tutorial for Healthy Curls

Wondering why your hair isn't growing? It isn't that it isn't growing, it is the fact that you're not retaining its length. Skipping trims is a non-negotiable for any hair texture or density! My last trim was in November and I knew it was time to trim these ends! Despite keeping your trims on a schedule (about every 8 weeks and no more than every 3 months for me), your hair will let you know when it is time for a trim. Typically, you will notice your hair becoming more tangled, noticing more shed hair, and noticing that your curly hairstyles lack bounce and volume. I try to do twice a year. Beginning of the year and then mid year. I always snip my ends when I do twist after wash day and I see my ends are in need of some attention. So I don't feel like I need more than two trims.

Thank you! I’m so glad the videos are helpful! I try to trim them at least every 3 months. Some stylist suggest 6-8 weeks! That is typically when I start noticing the difference. I always suggest that people observe their hair. You will know when it is time if the hair is looking lump in a curly hair style or if it becomes more tangly! 💕
