So glad you enjoyed such a little bit of Aussie music. But this selection is LIMITED and is not even the tip of the iceberg! 😮😮 Please do some research and find more. You'll love it! 🥰 M 🦘🏏😎

It's great that you are interested in Aussie music. From your name, I assume you're from the Gombe state, maybe Tangale? There's a great musical tradition in northeastern Nigeria. Some of the off-beat rhythms you'll find also in some Aboriginal and Torres Island music. Asante sana (🇰🇪).

The Bee Gees didn't even make an Honorable mention? Stay'n Alive was massive worldwide. I guess the problem is too much good music from Australia, but it was a bit unfair to give Jimmy Barnes twice, ok once as Cold Chisel, but still for what he left off that was unfair.

This list is clearly the narrator's own personal favourites and bears no resemblance to the best Aussie songs of all time. He sounds like he hasn't hit puberty yet.
@t.a.k.palfrey388214 күн бұрын
All lists such as this one are necessarily subjective. My early teen and tween Sunshine Coast grandsons say this list is "fine" - with a typical teen shrug. My 75-yr old self don't even recognise some of these.
@morningsky804514 күн бұрын
@@t.a.k.palfrey3882 Ditto (from a 70-yr old). The younger generations have probably never heard of The Seekers, maybe not even LRB - or anything back in the days when songwriting meant something. I've never tried to put together a list of the best Aussie songs but only half-a-dozen of this lot would even come under consideration. The Australian penchant for including New Zealanders as our own is a bit rich too.

Or maybe he didn't? I suspect there's a group of people who dislike that song, either because it was "too popular" so recently, or maybe because Tones wasn't some 80s male rocker. Give it time & maybe Tones a chance to do more work. Very little on this list came out post-2000. Maybe Gotye, can't think of anyone else. Troye Sivan is also missing, also The Kid Laroi, Dean Lewis & probably others I've forgotten. Also this list is mostly rock/pop, so there might be some iconic country songs missing from this list ("I Love to Have a Beer With Duncan" or "Pub With No Beer", Slim Dusty, anyone?). Or iconic singers in other genres whose names we still know today, like Dame Nellie Melba or Dame Joan Sutherland.

Sorry, not early in their career. Angus was 8 years old when they migrated to Australia. The Easybeats were number 10 and Australia's first international rock band, and Angus and Malcolm's big brother George was the guitarists and one of the songwriters and the a full decade later played base and managed and George and band mate Harry Vanda was their record producers when AC/DC when the first started and after Bon died.
