You know what is a great trick for the long acrylic blanks is to spray a little water in the hole as you drill it to make so the drill slides better

Great job Rob. I use carbide on acrylics, but I use a negative rake cutter, works fantastic.

All I have is the Magic Skew and the square cutter from Easy Wood. I don’t own a carbide scraper. I’ve heard a lot about them but don’t think I’m going to buy one. Maybe if some company wants to sponsor me. 😁 Regards, Bob

From what I've heard also, those Acrylic Stars and Stripes blanks from WoodCraft crack, melt, explode, and have all kinds of turning problems. I've heard very sharp tools and very light passes - kind of like you need on Inlace Acrylester blanks. I'm glad it turned out good for you. Made a really nice looking pen with that kit. - Dave

Thank you, They are very brittle. You should definitely try another. Take light cuts and turn the speed up. I turn at 3,000 RPM. Regards, Bob

That is a great looking pen. I wonder if that carbide at 45° is just to aggressive. Somebody swipe your pen, that sounds a lot like breaking the law. That shows a touch of evil, which happens from living after midnight. Don't let a panic attack manifest before the dawn. Remember to ride the wind.

I think carbide in itself is way too aggressive. I use it from time to time but the tough blanks, I always use the Skew on. Great play on words with the JP songs. The concert was amazing! Regards, Bob
