She needs a squad because she doesn't know how to express her pain and anger in a healthy way to the person who hurt her. She can't resolve her own problems because she's still young and immature and is too much of a coward to do it on her own. So having a 'squad' makes her feel strong and powerful because deep down she feels weak, scared and hurt. All this anger, fear, and drama just says that she is still immature and hasn't learned to express herself appropriately in a healthy positive way. Therapy can teach her how to express herself positively and resolve problems in her relationships right away. She's probably had a nice cozy upbringing and hasn't experienced negative things like this thrown at her, so her negative reactions reveals her mental and emotional immaturity.
