The way I interpret this song and therefore what I believe it wants to say, it is absolutely magnificent. A solstice happens twice a year with the welcoming of both summer and winter. On one side of the world, it will become night (dark) way earlier than the other. He has literally created a metaphor that mixes Solstice as a term with an emotional matter of the heart. "Don't let me let the dark take over". Therefore the title of the song, that isn't ever mentioned in it. Please correct me if im wrong :)

Man this has been one of my favorite songs since the first playthrough but im just now listening again with good headphones and wow. WHY DID THEY NOT BRING DUSTINS GROWLS FORWARD MORE! His background vocals at 2:15 are divine, I wish it wasn't so lost in the back. Still a phenomenal song, I love it even more now. MORE SCREAMS!!!!!!!!
