This is my favorite Farragut episode. I was thrilled to see Star Trek Continues Mr Spock to play the Romulan. Just like Mark Leonard in TOS.

Great job. The ending was very touching. The twist with the Romulan "cook" was clever. Thanks for keeping the original Trek look and spirit alive.

Thumbs up to a really well thought out sideline in the Star Trek universe. Unlike a load of other "fan fiction" productions, this one has taut acting, original storyline and enough action to keep it exciting without overwhelming the story. Well done Vic Mignogna for a quite credible imitation of Bill Shatner. I liked it!
@captaincell7 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. CBS would be better off hiring Mignogna and his team to produce a new series for them rather than the know it alls who think everything should be changed except the name. If it's called Star Trek, the fans better get Star Trek.

I give these guys a lot of credit for getting this far with their fan film. despite the imperfections on display here. The first officer, who takes over, is convincing. The guy who plays the father also did a good job. Good combat scenes. Still, there is something "off" about the whole show, though. The captain does not seem very commanding...perhaps there is more than that. Still, they made a real fan film that they can be proud of. It is not perfect, but it is good enough to watch. Kudos, Starship Farragut!

As much as some people hate Star Trek, if the fans keep turning out work like this and other really great work that I have seen here on you tube then they will never be able to get rid of it or us, so all I can say is that Star Trek and it's fans are here to stay.

Kudos to the fan productions of "Star Trek Continues" and "Starship Farragut". These are very well done, although not professional, extensions of the original 1966 series. I have to say , with the exception of Star Trek itself, the stories were much better than the Star Trek TV shows that followed the original series. The original 1966 Star Trek lives in the form of these fan made productions. Live long and prosper!

An unexpected upside to this series for me is the fact that these actors look like ordinary people (because the ARE ordinary people) as opposed to the polished "beautiful people" favored by more professional productions. It actually makes this series more realistic and compelling to me since the people in it look more like people I would encounter in real life.

Nice, I was entertained. I liked the music too, both the opening intro and the closing end credits. I like how starfleet personnel always pull a rabbit out of their hats at the last second during tactical maneuvers, figuring out how to best their enemies, while in a fire fight. Lovely! I was kinda hoping they could've somehow saved that Romulan dude, more's the pity. All in all I give an 8.96 score. LOL!

Now I've seen 3 of these shows and I'm impressed. Never thought I could get out of TV Star Trek and into a KZbin Star Trek (except maybe Continues and New Voyages). This show is pretty damn good with storys. Now Star Trek Farragut has some stale wooden acting by John Broughton who plays the Capt. however he did improve considerably in this episode. There are some flaws especially in For Want Of A Nail. Seems like in the scenes where they are under guard by the patriot soldiers and using there scanners and stuff, the sentries guarding them are not noticing this especially where there is a beep, beep from the tri quarter and the security officer gets it and not noticed by the patriots. Now this episode was really top notch, story was good, acting was better then the last 2 but the Romalan super soldier was a surprise reminds me of the Borg. Great episode.

Some of these shows are tragic due to a weak cast, but a lot are really excellent due to strong casting and a good storyline. I REALLY wish NBC etc would pick them up and run with them intofull production because they really are exceptionally good
@FLAME45647 жыл бұрын
Well atm this kind of cast may be all that they may have to make do with since CBS has been on an all out so called crusade trying to supress the use of pro actors in a stronger cast aswell as certain timing of fan films. Which is utter shit. Unless something can be done to either open their tainted eyes or tell those hollywood hell pigs at CBS to back off of fan films and back their guidlines off of fan films.

I think Kirk, the Romulan cook, and the attractive shuttle pilot were good actors. At 10:40 luckily the electric door still opened perfect after the major crash. :P They got out just in the nick time like on that show CHiP's. At the end, no funeral for the young attractive shuttle pilot, then again she was wearing a red shirt. In keeping with the story line, I do think the Romans would have self destructed before allowing the tractor beam? Overall, great stuff and thankful for the episode! TOS Trek fans like myself appreciate it. The Kirk (from this episode) I think is in a new Startrek fan-film called "Star Trek Continues."
@docwobbles9 жыл бұрын
"Star Trek Continues" is the new gold standard in the TOS universe. Phase II was alright, but plagued by cast changes and lack of funding. Much of the other fan-made stuff I've seen is really, really bad. A couple even had openly gay main characters, and that will just never work for me no matter how good the production.

It wouldn't have been so bad if their "predator" like creature wasn't so non predatorial and if it didn't run away like a kid in special olympics at the first sign of a disruptor. Plus the genetically constructed "super soldier" was done before several times. See ST:TNG Roga Danar for one.

Marc Parella Yes of the several out there; I think Starship Farragut is my fav Fan-flick makers. I really appreciate their stuff. Their best is probably Tressuarian Interception. Even this, now older work, holds up and was a decent episode to watch, i particularly enjoyed the combat sequence; adding a bunch of details in my head, imagining how resilient the Constitution-class really Was back in it's prime, just give it a minuet and she'll be swinging again. And just what kind of ADvantage the Romulans really DID have over the Federation back then; their Cloaking tech + the brand new Plasma Torpedo! Now with extra stain-fighting power: Frying hulls at the atomic level!! Anyway, i ramble. Have you see PRELUDE TO AXANAR YET?! My god im looking fwd to that! and that old white dude, he played a a familier Klingon or 3 through TNG & DSP!

TOS was my first love when I was 9 and discovered Trek along with my later fascination with the JFK Assassination, Serial killers, 16th -19th Century British Naval History, Horatio Hornblower & Capt. Jack Aubrey. Somehow along the way because of Star Trek I also became a Biblical Scholar with a Doctorate in Divinity (D.D.) and a Ph.D. in Metaphysics.
