They could make a series of each of the Starships - Farragut, Excalibur, Essex, Potemkin, Hook, Defiant, Constitution to name just a few - they finished up the 5-year mission of the Enterprise, they can make a series for the 5-year missions of these and other Starships. I enjoyed watching this. Thank you for uploading it and for those who were responsible for its production.

I love Farragut! I wish we could have full length episodes like this again. It never did anything but keep Star Trek interest alive while CBS/P slumbered and gave us nothing for 11 long years.The Star Trek fan film community did an excellent job. Thanks to all. I wish CBS/P had viewed the Star Trek Fan Film community and its productions as an asset, not something that had to be forced into 15 minute segments. So CBS/P was the only source of new full run Star Trek on the net. I think they were unsure of their own abilities to make a product Star Trek fans would want, so they had to stack the deck in their favor. After seeing first episodes of Discovery and the arc at war with the Klingons, I understand their nervousness entirely. Maybe now that they are reestablished, they can relax the Star Trek Fan Film Guideline restrictions as they feel more sure of the quality of their current product!

The United States has the worst fascistic copyriight laws in the entire world. I don't even think China is as bad for ripping quality content off the internet. But at least China does it because they believe the content is somehow bad for Chinese culture - misguided though it may be. In America, the only reason why content is censored is because of money. Classic, old fashioned greed. The worship of Mammon. They want to force people into purchasing licenses for tens of thousands of dollars - sometimes more - just for the right to use the Star Trek name and characters. They know damn well that "normal" people like those who produce Farragut and other fan-produced content do not have tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend on permissions. Even though shows like Farragut keeps interest in Star Trek alive - even though hearing music on people's videos is an excellent way to obtain free advertising - no. No, no, no. If there's even 5 or 6 notes of a song played on a video, it is pulled for "copyright violations." Instead, the music we have to listen to is that cheap crap that you hear over and over and over in just about every video now. And the "Big Boys" like CBS are hoping that the small 10 or 15 minute segments will be scattered across KZbin so that no one will get to see the whole episode - or they won't get to see it in the right oder. Anything to reduce the quality and enjoyment someone might get from an "indy" source. This country makes me sick given how we live in the Dark Ages. We call ourselves the "Land of the Free" when we're anything but. And to illustrate the point - the United States is the ONLY country in the world that will never have high definition DVD recorders in their stores. Nope. Everyone else will be able to freely purchase them. Hell, you'll even be able to find HD DVD recorders in Siberia. But not in the United States. The reason is because American cable companies have found a way to scramble the signal on HD programming so that you cannot burn it onto a DVD. Yes, your Tivo will still record the show in HD - you know, devices that only have temporary storage. But the signal will be scrambled if you try to burn it permanently to a DVD. Never mind that people have been recording television shows for almost half a century, now they can screw you over. Because they want your ass in the store buying the DVD boxed sets for $50 or more -- not recording your favorite shows for free!! How unAmerican is that? You must worship Capitalism and the almighty Dollar! So, the producers of HD DVD recorders have decided that, due to the inability for Americans to record HD DVDs, it simply won't be worth it to market them here. Even programs that allow a person to download videos from KZbin and other sources have been pulled or blocked for American users. They work fine for everyone else. Just not Americans. Because these little software companies are decended upon by lawyers - like a swarm of locusts - making these programs economically non-viable. If anyone living in America thinks we're free - you need to get out more.

Fan film productions like Starship Faragut run much closer to the style and spirit of ST-TOS than the big Horrorwood productions. While I liked ST-NG and even DS9, I like this return to Star Treks original roots better. The starships, interior sets, uniforms and gear props are all top notch. As an old real-life Navy veteran, I would say a few of the cast/characters would have been put onto a workout regimen to get them back in shape. 😄 But, we have seen fat Klingons in the bigger productions too. I just recently discovered these ST Fan Films, and am really enjoying them. Keep up the great work! 😎👍

Just a little thing but in 5 card stud you don't hold your cards. So I take it that the chief of security has a bone to pick with Kirk? And the knife was a message?
@stevesebzda5709 ай бұрын
Yes, you hold your cards in 5 card stud. You don't draw (as in 5 card draw) but there's one round of betting (holding them) as opposed to just laying them down. That one initial round of betting wouldn't occur if just laid down. You hold them (betting goes around) then laid down in other words. GREAT ON THE STAR TREK though.. (I got distracted by this "5 card stud" thing) GREAT JOB 😂👍🏻☕️
@richardbersch55249 ай бұрын
@@stevesebzda570 Steve, 5 card stud is very much like 7 card stud (though in 7 card stud there are 3 down cards and 4 cards face up). In 5 card stud you receive one down card (hole card) and 4 up cards (on the table, you do not hold them) with betting generally occurring after each up card is dealt. The cards are placed on the table, they are not held in your hand as they did in the movie. You can google this or watch it on youtube for that matter.

You know it's funny because I counted at least three things that, if this were a CBS/Paramount show, people like you would pull your hair out over. There's nothing wrong with any of the new productions; it's simply how you choose to selectively judge them.

@@therexbellator no their is not anything more with them than most shows but if you are going to make a show that is a staple in the hearts and minds of people for generations don't change the way it works if you are going to change something also change the name and universe that it takes place in
@therexbellator11 ай бұрын
@@darkshadow9291 As Spock says in TOS "Change is the essential process of all existence." Star Trek isn't about staying stagnant and telling the same stories over and over again, not only is that bad storytelling it's bad business practice and proven to fail; modern TV audiences expect more than 20th century formulaic television. The new shows have had their flaws (just as TOS and TNG and DS9 have their flaws) but it showed that Star Trek can be more than just a 45 minute morality tale. It's okay to like the old stuff too but at some point you have to move on.
@darkshadow929111 ай бұрын
@@therexbellator yes but change for the sake of change is hubris
@therexbellator11 ай бұрын
@@darkshadow9291 I mean I don't disagree but I disagree that NuTrek represented that. First off creatives don't simply want to regurgitate what others have done before them; creatives want to bring something of themselves to make their work their own. Also Star Trek had been off the air for over a decade so falling back on decade-old formulaic television is just not a good look especially for modern audiences. Anyway I suggest if you haven't already try out Strange New Worlds, I think they have managed to blend together old and new school in a familiar way that has won over a lot of people.
